should I shake these? PIC

Hi guys,
these jars were inoculated with GLC(left) around 2 weeks and a half ago, have never been shaken so I'm wondering if at this point is worth a shake since they are 90+ % colonized. Any benefit to shake them at this point, or should i let them finish colonization without shake?

Disclaimer: I am by no means an expert
But I thought the whole idea behind shaking was to spread the mycelium around, thus speeding up the process of colonization. So I believe that shaking your jars at such an advanced point of colonization would have little to no effect. Beautiful jars though!

the reason I didn't shake them was to sort of slow them down because I have another batch that I inoculated at a later date and I wanted to catch up with my first batch(9 jars first batch and 5 second batch),they are 2 weeks apart. I don't think is happening

Just let them finish as-is.

welp, maybe then I'll shake them, since I'm trying to close the gap between 2 batch of jars inoculated 2 weeks apart, how long would it take to recover on average? These are my first grains so not much experience

If you shake those I bet it would take 2-3 days for them to be 100% and ready to use then you'll want to shake them again. Post a pic if you shake them after 24 and 48 hours.

and I would shake just to make sure they recover in 24 hours or so, to see if u might have some sort of contamination...
I had hidden contams on my jars the last couple runs...picked up that little trick on these forums.

That makes sense. I will shake them, however I also inoculated 13 brf jars with the same GLC and they all 100% colonized already with no contams, so should be ok.
Should they be pasty white in 24-48 hours after the shaking?

pasty came about 9 months after "shaking" took place

I would say closer to 48 to recover fully. I do my g2g's and shake at ~90% just to make sure there are no contaminates.

Personally, I'd allow them to colonize ALL grains. I'm facing the same dilemna with spawn bags. It actually really isnt a dilemna as the bags were shaken at 30%, now I just wait.
BEFORE spawning to bulk, when at 100%, you could shake them to give the myc a day or two head start. By the time you spawn to bulk, a day or two later, the myc is looking nice and sexy.
But yeah, I'd just wait it out until 100% is colonized.

It would just be a waste of the myc's limited energy at this point.
