San Pedro? Definitely an Echinopsis
    #19257598 - 12/10/13 08:58 PM (10 years, 4 months ago)

Hey, I just bought this at a local plant store because it said it was of the Echinopsis genus, but didn't specify the species. Anyone able to tell if it's a San Pedro/other psychoactive cacti?

Doesn't look psychoactive, just a guess E.cuzcoensis.

Could be a pasacana/candicans or something like a chiloensis. The spines and rib count suggest something other than the common trichs.

Very hard to say. It's not t. pachanoi, peruvianus, cuzcoensis nor anykind of "this group" of cacti.

What is that small "pup" on the side of cactus? I'm not sure is it pup, picture is not so clear.

I don't think it's pasacana nor chiloensis... idk?

Maybe some sort of hybrid echinopsis.. there are lots of echinopsis hybrids around sold by nurseries, they are sold because of the color of flower and produced hybrids in order to get new flowers.

Etiolation cause ID harder, also because it's a young seedling it's hard to say for sure what echinopsis it is... There are shitloads of echinopsis around. Give it strong sun when spring comes and try control the etiolation, grow it over season and then show picture so it's easier to ID when can be seen spine formation from cactus top and possible aerole color. :sun:

Better ID later on can be easier when you grow plant few seasons and then show picture from top and side of it. It's hard to say is this plant more cobular or columnar cause cobulars can turn like that when they etiolate.
