What just happened to me? (heart attack?)

I got out of bed about an hour ago to take a piss. I finished peeing but right then I felt my lungs constrict really hard and I couldn't breathe. My head started swimming instantly and my vision started tunneling. Before I could make a move to sit down or anything I'm waking up slumped over the toilet, my face against the porcelain. I completely blacked out. I don't think it was lack of oxygen cause it happened too soon after I couldn't get my breath. I've felt dizzy and sick to my stomach since but otherwise ok.
I'm 27 years old, physically fit, don't smoke, and don't do drugs other than the occasional psychedelic journey and once in a blue moon a sleep aid (didn't take one tonight).
I want to believe it was just a low blood pressure thing. I have ridiculously low blood pressure my doctor always comments on it. But I haven't been getting any light headed spells from standing up or any other symptoms associated with it. And I had been standing for a while when this happened, usually if its from low BP its right after you stand up.
Anyone have any idea if this sounds like a heart attack or anything else you know of? I'm kind of freaked out right now.
Any input much appreciated.

sounds like a hypotension event--- low BP = dizzy and blackout
does not sound like heart attack though I'm no expert-- if you have low blood pressure your heart is probably in pretty good shape.
could be a panic attack? I know it sounds weird but they arent always triggered by stressful events, that's part of what makes them so annoying. People have panic attacks for almost no reason.
as far as the lung constriction thing goes you should know that once the conscious body feints (blackout like that) the CNS takes over and the body continues to breathe...
I think you feinted.
ask a nurse, they are smart as fuck and know all kinds of shit.

Thanks man. Even just a few words from a non-medical professional (I'm assuming) is making me feel a little more relaxed about it. I can handle it being anything other than a heart attack. I guess I really should make an appointment with the doctor.

I thought I was dying the first time I had a panic attack. Vision faded instantly to black, started sweating profusely and woke up on the floor a couple minutes later. I thought it was a heart attack or something as I was dropping to the ground and into unconsciousness.
There was no trigger for me, I just walked downstairs to get a glass of water and BOOM. Fucking scary, never knew what real fear was until that day, even as a child I had never been that scared, fucked me up for months and still causes me concern that it can happen any time several years later..

You're welcome--- relax! ....but yeah, if you have a family physician you can talk to or a friend who is a professional or whatever it would be a good idea.
be good

Well damn. I guess I have been going through some pretty large changes lately and I've been stressing pretty hard. I have a suspended prison sentence and I thought I may have fucked up lately (not drug or crime related, just a technical thing having to do with school and work) but I wont know for a while if it's gonna come back on me or not. I just kind of bury all that shit and don't think about it but really it's always there just below the surface. And I have a big trip in 2 days and a big to do list that mostly involves doing stuff with my vehicles but it snowed like crazy here and I don't have a garage.
Writing all this out I'm just thinking...well fuck. Maybe it was a panic thing heh.
edit: Oh. And gf broke up with me about a month ago. Then she wants to get back with me. Then she doesn't. Been playing with my head a little bit. The whole time I'm just not really giving a fuck but I guess deep down I care a little bit.

Anyhoo. Thanks guys. I'll see the doc if I can before I leave on my trip. I'll try to post whatever I'm told it might be. If it was a panic thing maybe I'll get some yummy xanax

Get yourself checked out, but sounds like a panic attack is a strong candidate. Might seem like a relief, but I would trade my anxiety bullshit for severe depression any day. I have had problems with both for a long time and never thought anything could be more crippling mentally than depression.
Sooner you start addressing the issues, the easier it should be. Good luck, be well.

Go for it man. I pretty much got the reassurance I needed for the moment to not worry I'm gonna go to sleep and not wake up or something crazy lol.

Meh--- i dont really wanna. I'm trying to relax right now but the jist of it is this:
Holidays (like Thanksgiving or Christmas or whatever) used to be a time of the year when shops and stores closed early and sent their employees home to be with family and everyone got together--- people without family or maybe living away from family would get together with others in similar situations and everyone would just relax and enjoy the times, or quarrel and get drunk and enjoy the times. Either way it was about NOT WORKING and BEING TOGETHER.
there I said it. Holidays is about being together and relaxing, and enjoying the times and the tradition of the occasion.
(i deleted about a paragraph long rant in this area)
so really--- cheers people may you enjoy your times and occasions!

Yeah man I agree. It's become so commercial people can't really just enjoy time with their families. So many people get forced to work on the day of it's crazy.

You said you just got out of bed, then later that you had been standing for a while. Which is it man? Do you sleep standing up?
This sounds like classic orthostatic hypotension. You probably were performing the valsalva maneuver unconsciously as you were holding in your pee, and the moment you finished peeing and relaxed, all the blood flowed out of your head and you passed out.

That's what a buddy of mine said, he has a heart condition so the doctor warned him against holding his pee because of a raise in blood pressure followed by a drop after peeing.
I was in bed, then I got up and went pee. So I had been in bed, but by "a while" I mean long enough to go to the bathroom and take a piss. Usually if I get light headed from low blood pressure it's right when I stand up. Also I've never had my breathe taken away like that before. But I am just going to chalk it up to that. Low BP and that drop in blood pressure after pissing.
