Ooooohhhh... Well, that's what I get for not paying attention to detail.
Thanks for clearing that up fellas. That will be useful to know if I ever get an apt. with a gas stove.

we are now using bags for pretty much all of our spawn. having to scrape grain out of jars is a disaster. spending hours bashing jars on bike tires is a waste of time. the bags pay for themselves very quickly. easy to pour. although i occasionally feel guilty when i throw them away.

I don't think anyone does that. Modifying a Presto is dangerous, they are pretty poorly made to begin with. Don't get me wrong, I have 2 of them. I wouldn't test their limits though.

do any of you guys run your prestos at 20psi? on the gauge of my pc it doesnt say caution until after 20 psi? i could just use the rocker assembly from my old 16qt pcs and add another washer or so. then according to Roger i would only need to do 90min cycles
there is either a lead or plastic blowout on those things. If you fuck with the rocker to exceed the pressue, it will melt the blowout and you wont wanna be too close to it when that happens.

Mine is plastic, and I would never, ever, try to modify a Presto. They're cheaply made. I make sure and point that thing away from me during normal operation, and generally avoid even going in the kitchen while it's running.
