Hey guys. Well I'm starting out on my first fungal grow, wish me luck and good vibes!
Ok first think is I need something to grow
Step 1. Getting the spores. Check.

Step 2. Once I get the spores I will be doing an agar plate then making my own syringes. Question on this step, What size syringe? And do I get a blunt tip needle?
Also any comments are welcome.

If you're going to do agar you don't really need to bother with making your own syringes.

I was going to do a Brown Rice Cake tek with a shot gun chamber, every video/journal says to inject it. If i was to do straight agar would i just cut a chunk and toss it in the jar? All sterile of course.
also if i want to keep a print for a couple months would it be better to keep it as a print in the fridge or agar then fridge it?

Yes, If you use something other then vermiculite for the contam barrier. You would do it in a Still Air Box (SAB). If using verm: You just need to get the agar wedge down past the verm barrier. Without smearing the agar all over the verm barrier, which could allow contams to enter. I've done it using a piece of polyfill to create a 'tunnel' down to the BRF, then removed the polyfill at the same time I added the agar wedge. You could also PC the verm separately and, in the SAB, top off the jars.

You don't need to keep prints in the fridge.

I second
Use Micropore Tape if using agar without verm barrier.

i suggest starting with ms to pf tek. that way you can clone a mushroom that fits your desired traits.. plus its much easier and would be the perfect introductory to growing mushrooms.
if you do ms to agar and colonize all jars from that agar plate then you are using the same genetics for all cakes.. Yes the fruits will still very because it wont be isolated sectors but still. ms to all cakes would introduce more variety for you to find your desired mushroom to clone.
