Spawn to fruit help

Ok, I got my spawn colonizing, what I'm unsure from here is the process from spawning to fruiting. Do I need to soak my spawn, or can I cut the bag slightly above the spawn and place it directly into my fruiting chamber? I've read that I can begin to case it immediately with perlite/vermiculite and/or casing soil directly in my FC, and should be gold from there, I've never been able to successfully harvest mycelium, but from mycelium I've never had a problem past soaking.

sounds like you have not done sufficient reading. look up a tek that utilize the materials that are easy to find for you. i like the 50/50 coir tek, but i have also used straw and wood for different species and grows.
some things you will defiantly need to read on are pasteurization and bulk substrates... also look into Casing methods as well. these are all things you need to spawn to bulk.
good luck and pm me directly if you need further help.

i'd also suggest spawning to a bulk sub

to awnser more from this. if you chose to fruit directly from the bag you can just cut the top off and put in a SGFC or similar set up and have success.
in terms of soaking them, i normally judge how much water is in the block before i soak. if the block feels heavy then theres no need to soak, but if it feels light and shows signs of bluing soak it overnight, let air dry, and then put in fruiting chamber. also want to note that depending on the substrate yo use soaking can be risky as it could cause your block to crumble.

Self healing rye berry spawn bag, and thanks, I'm not looking for a massive yield, just eager to get anything out of it, its apparently penis envy white caps, I was kinda excited when I saw what kind of spores I got.

I saw a tek on the nexus that was just in this sense, the OP didn't even use a fruiting chamber, he just fruit right out of the bag and sprinkled sterilized verm over top. He did however use another bag as a chamber to mist and humidify.

in terms of this, you will get ok results from this, and is similar to http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/17211492 this that i did. mind you if you spawn your grains to choir and use a tray so that you can keep the sub at a uniform depth you'll get much better yeild.
alot of my pictures were deleted somehow but you can at least see the pin set of these grain / horse poo/straw/verm mix. the canopy on these trays were really nice but all those pictures are gone for some reason..... http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/16395546

So hey, I saw your tek and all the pics were there (^_^) it will definitely help; was wondering if I can case my spawn like in the old school BRF Video Tek, its pretty much what I went by for my first few times, but never got past growing mycelium. He would essentially birth the cakes, as you have said, its not necessary if it feels quite heavy (i.e moisture/bluing), then do the dunk and roll in vermiculite, gently place in the terrarium with perlite, and just mist the vermiculite after it has been set on the mycelium. Then for the next long stretch you just make sure the humidity is set, you have a constant room temperature, clear terrarium for optimal, no hassle lighting, make sure to mist and air out the fruiting chamber daily.
Was also wondering if I can possibly store some mycelium after the initial opening of the spawn bag/birthing to optimize my chances of actually getting my first flush?

well i think dunking and rolling is essential if your just going to fruit them as cakes. so yeah when you birth them rinse them under cold water and leave them to soak in cold water for 6-12 hours then rinse them again and roll them in verm. soaking for second and third flushes is optional and only really needed when the block is drying up.

So still almost no difference with my bag, I can see tiny bits of white coming off of some of the grains, and it is very moist and humid inside of the bag, plus now I have a more constant temperature in my house, was hoping for a little more action over a 14 day period.
