Came across a few different mushrooms while hiking the Cuyamaca Mountains in East County San Diego on Sunday 12/08/13. I was able to identify a few but I need your help for the others.
Mycena Nivicola

These I'm not sure of. 1A

All mushrooms except #3 looks like armillaria. Also mycena nivicola only occurs in the mountains during spring.
Thanks for sharing your pics!

The gills of 1A/B extend about a half an inch down them stem. Armillaria I believe is adnate. I had a hard time figuring this one out though so I could be wrong. Thanks for the input!

Yeah they have definitely fooled me before too in age as the gills can look like become decurrent and veil remnants fade away. Older mushrooms can be much harder to identify as aging can warp a lot of identifying features.

Agreed.
3 appears to be a Neolentinus

Yep number two also. When they fruit from buried wood they can look like they are growing in soil.
