Ever died in a dream?

A friend and I were discussing this last night. As a kid I remember having a dream of falling to my death and knowing that I was. I remember pondering how my family would miss me and how sad it would make them. I also remember another dream where I jumped off a cliff and hit bottom and couldn't tell if I was alive or in some afterlife. I remember telling other people in the dream that they should try it. I wonder if that's what death is like? Maybe it's this awesome experience and the only reason we're afraid of it is because it's the unknown.

Yes and it's not what death is like. How could you know what death is like if you've never experienced? I suppose most people dream some abstract version of what they imagine death to be like.

You just totally contradicted yourself.

Yeah, if you don't know what death is like, how can you say his experience isn't what it's like?
No, never died in my dreams although I've been close plenty of times.. Terror seems to be a common occurrence in my dreams

Nothing appeals to me no one feels like me, I’m too busy being calm to disappear. I’m in no shape to be alone contrary to the shit that you might hear. You can't wake up, this is not a dream. I really want to die in a dream. I occasionally have brushes with death in my dreams where In fight hard to avoid it anbd struggle so hard that I wake up.
I wish I could die in my dream and have the super peaceful kind of experience many people report about dream deaths, I think it would help me unblock my death terror.

I get creamed a lot in my dreams. Happens all the time. I wake up and continue life. I guess one of these times I won't wake up.

I dreamed that I was a soldier in a war and I was shot multiple times by a machine gun. Not much changed, I was just flying around as a glowing orb of awareness.

Yeah, but usually I wake up before I actually expire. Had a weird dream about my dad dying last night

Yes I have, and its become a recurring dream as well, almost lucid, like willing yourself to fly but it starts by not resisting death and embracing it when you're going to die. Then its like a portal to the underworld, a dark cavernous place thats maze like and hard to navigate.

I always wake up violently as I smack into the ground. I think it's a metaphor or some shit.

Yes.
In my dream i was driving on the freeway. Then a bunch of meteors started falling from the sky and hitting the earth in the distance. They got closer and everything around me was catching fire. Then i saw one heading straight for me and it hit me. I didnt feel anything and everything suddenly became white. I was consumed in the whitest light imaginable, nothing compared to anything ive experienced IRL. On top of BEING the light i also felt total peace. I was just in an endless state of being i guess.
It was great.

Plenty of times, death from my memory is most of the time the part where you wake up
Been killed by people who were old friends and looking back it it does kind of seem to signify betrayal since there seemed to be some betrayal in the friendship.

Died in many painful different ways.. once I also saw a piece of the afterlife... do not understand exactly what happened though...first I was shot with a double barrel shotgun in my bedroom... in my dream.. Felt myself being pulled away from the body, in my thought a lack of time so I said goodbye to my loved ones, but instead of being fully pulled into this hole in.. my dream and closet door.. i woke up... only to die again..as I had nt really woke.. this time me an my childhood friends were playing, throwing giant rocks at each other.. about twice our size.. and then I was hit in the back... feeling it break.. and i was reborn into an other dream with a different death..
I had another dream which I first had at the age of six... then again at eleven... about five times in a row this time... so it is as clear in my mind as it would be yesterday... I was in the woods first I think... with this group of people I didnt know.. yet we began walking through the forests and began to hear a slight whisper of a word that didnt excist... something like "rayarabak" over and over... As we began to close into a clearing it became clearer.. I originated from the graveyard up ahead and we walked through the graveyard ... one after an other.. my companions were pulled into these whirls of blackness in the ground..
i felt myself being pulled towards these holes, though I managed to avoid them for a great while... even so.. the farther I came on the road the stronger the pull, and in the end I was pulled into one.. feeling my legs break apart and waking up.. do not know If I would classify it as dying... do not know what to call it..
I have had many a dream of falling... as is quite common.. though I have also hit the ground once, and it was not pleasant... also I have had my chest explode once.. and it was really messy..

I've had a few dreams of dying . They are rather vivid and usually insidious nightmares .

All the time to the point that I'm used to it. Came really close to dying when I was 3 and its affected me ever since. Wake up having panic attacks sometimes as a result, it kind of sucks. Just the hand I got dealt though, probably could take drugs to make myself feel better, but I've done that and I prefer feeling this way to being medicated. I forget my dreams within minutes after I wake up though, so its not like I think about them during the day. I do remember dreams of falling to my death, being stabbed, being beaten, dying in a fire, etc. Sometimes I have nightmares so bad I'm afraid to go back to sleep, but I always have benzos just in case.
