hi there.. this is one of my first grows, but i've never seen something like this. it's like there's the fruit body, with no cap. Looks weird, what do you think about it? I have to precise that my humidity is low, i mean under 90 %. Even if my fu##in chinese hygrometer says that it's 75% i think that's ma bit more. The reason should be that i have only 4 cm of perlite, but still mushrooms grow. I will take more perlite next time. Le t me know what you think guys...

My guess is they are not getting enoughfresh air exchange.. tryto get humidity up to at least 80% if you can

yeah..they have a humidity level like 85 %.. you say that a lack of air exchange produces those cankerworms?

Is it hard masses of tissue, like a solid mushroom stem or is it huge overgrown patches of mycelium?

yeah looks like hard tissue. seems to be a callo, we say it in italian, think in english is callus? of tissue. it grows up but doesn't put a cap..weird..in 3 different areas. This jar has done 10 days consolidation. there are 2 small mushrooms on it, and these 3 worms.

before in the jar could be rhyzomorphic masses of mycelium, suppose for the consolidation period. But instead of 'mushroomizing' it's becoming a hard worm, with both the extremities that go into the cake.it's becoming fatter in the middle..booooohh

The cakes needed to consolidate after full colonization for at least a week. Failure to do so often results in 'blobs'. It also appears from the tiny cap I see that they're getting insufficient light. This isn't a humidity or air exchange issue. RR

thanks guys..the fact is that the one with the blobs was the one that i left more in the jar..i'm going to give them more light in the meanhwile and see to provide more humidity/gas exchange. thanks again
