I went to the abbreviation section of this forum and it says BE stands for "biological efficiency", but wat in the world is that supposed to mean in the fun-guy context?!

How efficiently the fungus can utilize the substrate as food.

The amount of fresh fruiting bodies (weight) produced from a set weight of dehydrated substrate. For example, 100% BE would be a pound of mushrooms grown from a pound of horse manure, before the addition of water.

No.

It's a specific measure.  Most people get it wrong by comparing the wrong weights, such as wet to wet, dry to dry, etc.

As correctly said above, it's a ratio of dry substrate to wet mushrooms.
