Cold-brewed coffee

I've found out that cold brewed coffee is known to be much less acidic than usual (ph up to 6.9). Looks like if you choose soaking substrate in coffee, it's better to use the cold-brewed beverage.
It's when you make koffee with cold water, soaking the grounds for up to 12 hours. After filtering the grounds you can even boil the brew, it doesn't get more acidic.
Any feedback?

Coffee used to upset my stomach. Cold brewing fixed it for the reason you described.
I was actually thinking about this the other day and have not had time to research it.
Experiment:
Cold brew some coffee, then bring it to field capacity, then pasteurize, then leave it sitting in an unfiltered container to see how long it takes to contam.

Why such experiment? Shouldn't we investigate it's effects on mushroom growth? I plan to try to grow mycelium on grain soaked in strong cold-brewed coffee. They say you can't use strong usual coffee because it hurts mushroom due to it's low ph. I suggest using strong cold-brewed coffee to make use of it's nutriency and avoid the side effects.

That's because 'they' don't know wtf they're talking about. Mushroom mycelium prefers a low pH, so you're doing it a disservice by forcing it to colonize in a higher pH. P cubensis will colonize sterilized grain fastest at a pH of around 5 to 6.
Strong coffee will slow down colonization due to the extra nutrients. This is why we recommend weak coffee for soaking grains. It's not pH related.
People who get sick from drinking coffee are getting sick from the crap they put in it, such as that powdered bomb making material aka 'non-dairy creamer'. Black coffee is healthy for our bodies. RR

RR, the bee-keeper who taught me how to keep bees said that it was not a good idea for me to become a regular drinker of caffeine because it releases adrenaline which is our bodies natural antidote for bee venom. He said prolonged use of coffee would eventually wear out the pancreas which manufactures the adrenaline. I suspect you are about to disprove this theory as I heard you kept bees. Do you drink caffeine and if so for how many years and do you have increased sensitivity to bee stings?

I don't even use a bee suit any more. I rarely get stung because I move slowly. Sometimes one will accidentally crawl up my sleeve and sting when she gets trapped, but I just remain still and keep working.
Bee venom is a very powerful medicine in small amounts. I sometimes hold them by the wings and let them sting my forearms. The venom soothes my sore elbows and knees. It's important to remember the only difference between medicine and poison is dosage.
Oh, I drink a few pots of coffee daily, making my first at 4 AM. Coffee without caffeine is like sex without orgasm.
Many creatures such as dogs, but including wild animals and even insects such as bees and hornets, wasps, etc., can sense when a human is pumping adrenaline and react to it. The key for a beekeeper is to think of himself as their caretaker rather than the bear that's stealing their honey. This way you'll be calm as you work. If you feel your nerves starting to rattle, take a break and get away from the hive.
It also helps to walk the area around your hives when you're not disturbing them. This way, they get used to your presence and won't consider you a threat. RR

I guess I skimmed over your OP too fast. It was late and I was tired.
I was thinking you were talking about coffee grounds in bulk substrate.
Some people have trouble with contamination when using coffee grounds in bulk substrate and I was thinking cold brewing could be a possible help. That's the idea behind my little experiment.
I use weak coffee for my grain soak.
