I really like the images that the rebel takes although the powershot would be easier to use.... Does the rebel come with any lenses? Does anyone here own a powershot so I can see some more sample images?

The lenses can be pretty pricey, I still haven't got the one I want.

But besides a tripod, your pictures come from nothing more than whats provided in the link? http://shopping.yahoo.com/24712316-canon-eos-digital-rebel-xti-body-only-black-digital-camera Can I take pictures with what comes with it? Or do I need to buy additional equipment to take pictures?

It says "body only" so the lens in that picture does not come with it.

Your link is the body only. You would need to buy a lens. You could get a 12.5 mm extension tube and a 50mm lens for around $130.

O okay, that's what I was wondering. I'll probably just get the powershot in that case. Thanks for your help fellas.

Maynard, there is no wireless remote shutter release that works with the sx-series of cameras. All you need for a point-and-shoot though is the 2-second timer. My SX40 also has the option to set a custom timer e.g. 3 or 4 seconds which might work better for you. It's probably an option on the SX280 as well.

This is probably what I'm going to get. Costco has them for around the same price of the power shot SX280. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1000472-REG/canon_8409b001_powershot_sx510_hs_digital.html
