Do professors expect you to cheat on tests you take at home?

Class got cancelled due to weather so she emailed out the test for us to take at home.
I feel bad cheating but it doesn't make sense not to

Makes sense that it would be "open book" if you're doing it at home I'd think.

I would expect it if I was the professor, and I would be OK with it at every level.
If the kind of cheating you are doing is just looking up the answers, then it is likely you are learning the material. If you are cheating by copying off of someone else, and you aren't learning the things you don't know then it is likely your are hurting yourself further down the line, like on the final exam, or in later classes. It all comes out in the wash, man.

I'm just using my class notes I could probably pass without them but I didn't study at all

They're usually much harder, but you probably got the same test you would have I'm class if it wasn't planned. Your prof would have to be utterly incompetent to think you're not going to use resources.

It wasn't supposed to be a take home test, though. It's the final and it was scheduled for class and it can't be moved to another time so this was her only option

Uh it's not cheating to use a book on a take home test bro. I would only ever give my students a take home test if they were all failing the class and I wanted them to get a decent grade on the test. so of course I would expect them to use whatever resources necessary to do well on the test. I would be pissed if I gave a take home test and they still did poorly

As a professor, I don't give out take home exams for this reason.
