Cash --> BTC without massive fees?

Just tryna get myself some more BTC anonymously... Last go-around I was fortunate enough to find a vendor who only charged me like 5% on my moneypak. Now it seems that even to get the price down to 10% you have to purchase a couple hundred... any ideas?

I bought 300 bitcoins years ago when they were like 4 dollars a coin.
Now I'm rolling in dough, sold and happy.
50/50 chance I'm trolling and 50/50 chance I'm wishing I did....

Whenever I buy BTC, I expect a loss in the conversion. I always felt like it was kind of the deal with using em.

'tis a shame. You can always deposit money onto a site like btc-e.com and then buy through their orderbook. that way you're only incurring the fee imposed by whatever vendor your using for import. (edit, and the .2% for the BTC-e transaction fee)

Find somebody who's willing to accept payment in the form of you go to a branch of their bank and deposit money into their account. There's absolutely no fee involved with that. Also, cash exchange in person.

I'm still-a-lookin'. I hope I'm not forced to end up spending a 20% fee...

Best to invest in the foreign currency market, as bit coins are too volatile. Mining for them isn't even cost efficient anymore, you'd pay for what you earn in electricity.

I would look locally too.
Otherwise, try coinbase, https://coinbase.com/ ; I've never bought from there, but I do sell the bitcoins I mine there.
BTCe is better for trading, but is not good for cashing in or out. Coinbase is US based and probably the most trusted service for cashing in or out.

coinbase requires linking a bank account tho
localbitcoins allows cash deposit but sellers have pretty steep prices. no fees though i think. im not sure how they stop scams other than the reputation system.
was considering btcquick through credit card but it has 7.5% fees.
im trying to find the best way to buy ~$300 of bitcoins too... this currency blows though. if i didnt need it for deep web i wouldnt touch it with a 10 foot pole. it shouldnt be this hard to acquire them.
and one time i bought the amount of coin i needed + 10$ of wiggle room. in the few hours it took to buy, acquire, deposit to SR, and order the value changed enough that i had to go through the process again and buy a bit more coin.
