Feild Shrooms. Can someone please identify?
    #19250420 - 12/09/13 02:27 PM (10 years, 1 month ago)

One of my buddies handed me a bag of semi-fresh mushies that he said he picked from a field. Im big on mushrooms, but can't identify them very well. All help is appreciated! P.S. Shroomery doesn't support my file type, so the link to the pictures is in the url below.

The link is safe ^^

4-7 are P. allenii the rest are lactarius.
They all look too rotten to consume IMHO.

Judging by your friend's identification skills, I would really be suspicious of all their "finds". Be a scrupulous consumer. Those alleni's look really gnarly. Please do not eat those......

I believe 4,5,6, and 7 are an active Panaeolus species, likely Panaeolus cyanescens or a similar species in the Copelandia subgenus.

I agree the rest are a Lactarius species of some type.

That's what I was thinking as well.
Location would clear that out immediately.

No I believe maynard is correct, they are psilocybe allenii. Your both correct about the lactarius though.

But it really depends on where OP is in the world to determine what he found.
I've definitely have found allenii and cyanescens in grass so it is definitely possible it could be psilocybe or copelandia. Better pics and more info will point the way to the answer.

I looked through his posts, but only in MH&I, didn't think it would be worth it to search for a location elsewhere.
Then it's settled, those are (or were) Copelandia.

4-5-6-7 look like a rotting P. allenii.

1-2-3-8-9 look like rotting Lactarius, maybe even deliciosus.

Amazing!  Those are beautiful. In the first pic the one in the back far right is nonactive panaeolus commonly found on cow/horse patties.  The ones with the long thin stems and small caps.

You found Panaeolus antillarum, they are safe to eat but not active. In the future you should start your own thread for an ID request.

Welcome to the Shroomery

the majority of mushroom poisonings are simply food poisoning from eating spoiled mushrooms. those look jank bro

but if youre going to eat them at least chase them with spoiled milk or something.
