challange the pig or take it laying down?
    #19249696 - 12/09/13 11:36 AM (10 years, 2 months ago)

okay so I recently got a ticket I think was very unfair and am pretty pissed, I wont mention a few things in this post but I want your opinions on if I should fight the ticket in court or if I would just cause more trouble.
okay so story goes.... I got a msg from my friend asking for a favor and he says an aquantence needs a ride but will pay gas. I like to think im a helpful guy so I go over there and get the guy we are driving along and we are on a road I don't know at night so im probably a little out of my lane but its late on a small road no one is coming on the other side and I could see if they were coming.
well this cop pulls me over and gives me the runaround but makes me get out checks the back and gets the guy im helping out too, well seems I didn't know he had a warrant out and he ran so the cop said to me that he wasn't going to give me a ticket but because that guy ran he was now. also while I was in the car another persons name was mentioned between cops on the cb and I could easily put her that he really only picked be up because my car looked like someone from that area that they were wanting to fuck around. well all of that would make me fight it but im wondering if its smart because upon searching the car the cop found a dirty bowl and the guy that ran off left a little present for me...
I never even knew he was diabetic but he must had not wanted to let that needle stick his leg while he was running. so what are your opinions should I fight? I don't mind the one time 100 dollar ticket as much as the raised insurance but it still sucks. I want it done but I don't want more shit stirred up

So you got a ticket for what? A needle? A dirty bowl? Crossing the center divide? It's kind of unclear to me.

Also, trying to get rid of the ticket sounds like a good way to make things worse.

SUMMARY:

got pulled over.  he had a "dirty bowl" (used pipe??) sitting in his car that the cop found.

was giving someone a ride and apparently they had a warrant so they ran.
they left behind an insulin needle (not sure why that is relevant).

he now has a ticket for either

-failing to maintain his lane
-possession of paraphernalia

-something else??

This is why you never pull over for the police.

It sounds like you were doing sketchy shit with sketchy people, could have gotten fucked over way worse for a couple of things, and now you're trying to push your luck.

You want to fight the ticket on what grounds? You overheard someone else's name over the radio? I don't think that's really going to hold up in court.

the ticket was for crossing the divided line but it was just the cop being an ass and im crurious if fighting the ticket is a bad idea

If you got caught with a dirty bowl and a needle while you had a felon in your vehicle who ran, and all you are getting charged with is a minor traffic violation, I think you should be happy.

Yes, it's an incredibly bad idea. It's the cop's word against that of a guy in who's car they found paraphernalia and someone with a record who did a runner. Now you figure out who the judge is going to believe. Seriously dude...

Yeah why the hell would you fight this? They might dig into conspiracies with you giving a criminal a ride somewhere. You also got away scott-free with having a pipe found.

Deal with your traffic violation and consider yourself lucky. Not a good idea to challenge this and the judge might laugh so hard at you that he projectiles spit into your mouth accidentally and you end with herpes as well.

yea you can't really fight that one it's a basic ticket nothing you can do. but i have faught and gotten out of like 7 tickets and probably 10,000$ worth of tickets by being smooth as me.Just last week i had two dropped for 5,000$ bond because i know how to work the system because they are not really all that bright.
i just went up to the judge gave a wink and sais"hey beautiful how bout we drop this stuff and get a drink later?"  all charges dropped!!
JK i did smooth talk my way out though for real i should have been a lawer like my guidance counselor said. :wow:
