Should I stop? Take a break?

I got into MJ very late and only started smoking daily a year ago when I was 27. Since then I have been smoking every single day, taking hits of concentrates 8+ times a day.
I've been getting tired lately and feeling like I'm wasting my life a little bit. I guess it's more of a struggle as I wake up every morning and smoke again and I enjoy doing it and always rationalize it. But sometimes I feel like I should stop. The perspective I get on MJ has been a great tool of growth I think but I don't know when enough is enough.
Do others have these feelings often and how do they deal with and justify them?

Now in the dark world where I dwell, ugly things, and surprising things, and sometimes little wondrous things, spill out in me constantly, and I can count on nothing." - Bob Arctor (A Scanner Darkly) (Cannabis / DMT / LSD / MDMA / Mescaline / Psilocybin Mushrooms / Salvia)

Sometimes it's hard to tell the difference between the inner voice of truth and the voice of societal programming. I think this is something most frequent pot smokers ponder. If in doubt, maybe it would be best to take a break and see how things go.

Whenever you question a habit the best thing to do is stop. Don't even think (because you'll try to rationalize constantly) and just stop.
As the days and weeks go by you can then start making other decisions...

Smoking the first thing in the morning is the worst thing the average smoker can do if they want to be productive. For others they thrive on it but for most of us its not practical. Sure its nice to wake and bake to help get the morning going but after an hour or two you just end up burnt out and that's probably when you smoke again and repeat the cycle.
I've been smoking for nearly 10 years, roughly 6-7 years of that 10 years being daily smoking.
My routine is to smoke after I get out of work around 4-5pm, chill for about an hour or two then head to the gym come home shower and eat. Then I smoke again around 9-10pm and then I am set for bed.
So for the past 6-7 years of daily smoking I only smoke 2x/day and only smoke approximately a .5g-.6g a day. My tolerance has not gone up and has been consistent through the years.
Try taking a Tolerance break for a week or however long you feel you may need to and then reassess where your at. If you want to continue smoking after that which is fine just be sure to ration your smoking and not get back in the habit of smoking all day.

If you've asked yourself that question then it's time for a break. I smoke daily (I grow) but not until about 8ish at night, any earlier and it puts a fog on my entire day and makes me a little listless and morose.
If smoking daily really is a necessity for you right now then maybe look into some different strains of mj? Idk how it is where you live, but if you're in a medical state it should be easy to find uplifting/high energy strains instead of the punch-you-in-the-face commercial indicas that everyone is pushing.
And lay off the dabs for real. Bho takes my tolerance from 0-25 in an instant.

You should probably try it out. I'm having this issue right now. Not really an all day toker, but even at night it's getting too much for me as it affects me long afterwards.

I agree. With any degree of reasonable moderation, good pot should be plenty good. I feel like concentrates really do boost my tolerance level.

Thanks for the advice so far guys.
I've always stuck with Sativa's (Once I knew the difference) as I know Indica's make me a zombie. BHO's and other such concentrates are killing my tolerance.
I just took a 7 day break recently which was originally going to be for a month but after a week I decided to go back to it. Since taking my break my dreams have come back and 2 days back on MJ I've been remembering my dreams which for me is the best part of being off it.
I'm no longer smoking concentrates and will try and keep my habit to 2-3 times a day max. Perhaps I just need to find a balance.

Yeah concentrates are really only necessary for people who have tolerances. I've never used any except hash, and won't because a single hit of dank nug will smoke me into a schizophrenic

I've been in your situation before. I was smoking daily for several years and I started to lose a grip on many things I should have paid more attention to.
When I stopped smoking I felt down to earth again. I started doing things I used to always do before I started smoking, like daily exercise and being more social.
I feel happier overall since I've been on a break. I've only smoked a few times since quitting the daily thing and every time I do get high now its far more enjoyable than it was when I was smoking every day
