Temperature, time, and fear in first time grow.
    #19249092 - 12/09/13 08:06 AM (10 years, 2 months ago)

I did a search a couple different ways but didn't find anything that answered my question or allayed my fears.  I am in the midst of what I thought was a successful Pf tek grow. 10 out of 12 jars at 100% no contamination. I birthed my first 5 jars over a week ago after letting them consolidate for over 1 week. Dunked and rolled. They have been in an sgfc with consistent 99% humidity with plenty of fanning and misting.

I am getting scared because I have yet to see a single pin and it is 8 days today. They look fine and smell right but zero pins. I have them with indirect sun along with6500k cfl light for 12 hours a day.

My question s are twofold. First am I getting worried over nothing?  Is this a normal amount of time with no pins? Second. How big of an effect does temperature have on fruiting and time to fruiting? My temperatures have been 66-68 since it is winter here.  Does this slow growth a lot or prevent fruiting? I know ideal is around 70 correct? Please help put my fears to rest.  I am so excited but I think it is also feeding my fear.

The temp in my FC is 67-73 F depending on the house temperature, I like the temperature low to help with contams.

Time, no need to stress. Find something else to occupy your mind for another week and you'll be surprised.

66-68 is ok but it will be slower, it ca take up to 20 days sometime before pinning, BUT the good news is your fruit will be better and maybe more potent than a fast grow at a higher temperature..

-Benefits from fruiting at 68-72F. 1. Better Fruit Quality, 2. Easier To Control Harvest Time, 3. Easier To Control Evaporation! FRUITING TEMPS AND WHY
-*Better food quality and slower growth occurs in the high 60's low 70's, that's why it's the true preferred range. FRUITING

Thanks for the link. I followed a few other first time growers threads and it seemed like everyone was seeing pins 4-5 days in so I was getting worried.
