I would love to use this LFH I found where it blows the air up and out but RR says horizontal so just wanna see whats up

I've never seen one like that. Vertical flow hoods usually blow down and out the front.
Don't confuse a fume hood with a flow hood. RR

yes, you can, they are often sold as bio-safety cabinets for work with dangerous bacteria like E coli etc. I have two and have used them for years.

You're not gonna find one for less than probably $1000-1200 or so. That's why we use horizontal flow hoods. They work just fine and are much cheaper.
I've kicked around the idea of building one. I've never really asked anyone about it, but if you do your research I can't see why it couldn't be done.

I've never seen a flow hood which blows up and out. I think you're looking at a fume hood which will not work. RR

indeed! I missed that, a vertical laminar flow has air blowing from the top down over the work surface not from the bottom.

Yeah, I missed that part too. I agree, the flow would have to be blowing down onto your work.
