Internal PC blue ray drive that is.
Cost quite a bit... 70 pounds for a good model on amazon. Plus 30 for Lord of The Rings blue ray disk set...
Should i buy it?
Note: i am considering upgrading to a state of art full HD 60 inch plasma TV to harness the true power of blue ray technology.

Shall we buy a new guitar? Shall we drive a more powerful car? Shall we work straight through the night? Shall we get into fights? Leave the lights on? Drop bombs? Do tours of the east? contract diseases? Bury bones? Break up homes? Send flowers by phone? Take to drink? Go to shrinks? Give up meat? Rarely sleep? Keep people as pets? Train dogs? Race rats? Fill the attic with cash? Bury treasure? Store up leisure?

If you're looking for something for movies on a full size TV, consider a stand along player. An actual player will have HDMI out, will (probably) have better sound codecs, and is likely to be "smart" and provide better streaming services.
EDIT: In my personal experience there isn't a whole lot of difference among blu-ray players. Here in the states, Wal-Mart has new, name brand blu-ray players for $44.

I have known myself in a way I doubt I would have ever occurred except as it did. Smith, P. Bull. Fuck no, I would never buy a Blue Ray Drive, such a waste of money. You have other alternatives for getting 1080P movies that you can play on your TV via HDMI

Can you burn blue rays with it? If its just for watching them i would not, i like my play station and large screen TV. I don't see the point of installing a drive that i would watch only when my computer is attached to my tv anyway, like it seems pointless to watch blue ray on computer moniter. I don't really like cd/dvd/blur ray drives as they add alot of weight to laptops, i guess that doesnt factor in if its a desk top. Actually if you just download bluerays anyway you might as well just get a big external drive and isn't it the same thing?

Why not a PS3? It's a fully fledged blu-ray player (and quite good supposedly) with streaming options.
You could get a second hand one for the same money.
