Well it goes a long way when you are trying to convince people that a food destroys your brain and you cannot even use proper grammar, let alone writing words that do not even exist

And you still have provided no proof to back up your claim with any scientific study that could be duplicated

I'm aware of the sattvic diet, and do see value in keeping to the diet when undertaking rigorous spiritual practice--but I feel for the layperson, by and large the effects of rajasic and tamasic foods will be subtle enough that this diet is not necessary.

I have respect for the ayurvedic tradition though--when I was living in India, I inevitably got very sick--took the antibiotics a travel doctor had recommended for such a situation, still sick--went to various Indian doctors, took their advice, still sick--eventually went to a traditional ayurvedic doctor, took his advice, instantly better.

Pretty much. The final straw was a pharmacist trying to sell me pills that were clearly labelled "WARNING! Has been shown to be carcinogenic in lab rats."

The only thing I need an Indian pharmacy for is the over the counter ketamine.

It's been a few years since I've been there, perhaps things have changed (I'm sure a little bribe would be enough to change a pharmacists mind though).

When I was there, ketamine and valium were easily obtained OTC--combined with some quality hashish, it's how I survived 24hr+ long drives in cramped Indian vechicles.

The only thing that really interested me about this thread is how it claimed that taoists and ayurvedic medicine shunned garlic. Is there any legit sources for that claim? The only thing i can find is this article regurgitated on several lame websites, and then another article saying the exact opposite http://homeofayurveda.org/tag/garlic-and-ayurveda/

There been quite a few studies showing the benefits of garlic and onion so I don't see myself stopping anytime soon, especially since i've always enjoyed them and have pretty great health. I think its good to switch up what foods year eating once in a while however, and take breaks on foods...so maybe i'll give it 2 weeks off just as an experiment.

In the meantime, find me a legit source on ayurverdic/toaists recommending against garlic please
