parasite lives off the host saprophyte live off the dead tissue of the host (dead tissue may be because the fungus caused it or through natural cell death) endophyte lives in the host and could be parasitic or symbiotic.

Mycorrhizal fungi live inside the roots of the host plant and are mainly symbiotic. Parasitism is when the organism takes nutrients from the host without giving anything back or harming it in the process.
