ayurvedic medicine is some slack bullshit, OP.

but i dunno, maybe eating "immoderate amounts" of Garlic ain't good for you, just like immoderate amounts of most anything.

in low amounts, Garlic is known to be quite a health re-enforcer, from my understanding.

Well, it looks like the Taoists were wrong on this one. I eat tons of garlic and onions, and I'm in better shape than most people ten years younger than me.

Tomatoes were also thought to be poisonous because they're from the nightshade family...  when was the last time that a slice of pizza killed someone?

I feel great after eating garlic and onions.

There seems to be lacking study on this topic.
I feel like shit when I eat.  When my brother eats it his schizophrenic symptoms drastically increase.  Thought others might be able to relate.  But unfortunately science rules all.

But actually Dr. Beck did an actual scientific research to prove this.

The following text is quoted from this link: http://www.reikiempow...

I am as surprised and shocked as you will be to hear such a respected scientist as Dr Bob Beck telling us that garlic is highly toxic. Editor]

The reason garlic is so toxic, the sulphone hydroxyl ion penetrates the blood brain barrier, just like DMSO, and is a specific poison for higher life forms and brain cells.

We discovered this much to our horror, when I was the world's largest manufacturer of ethical EEG biofeedback equipment. We'd have people come back from lunch that looked clinically dead on the encephalograph, which we used to calibrate their progress. "Well, what happened?" " Well, I went to an Italian restaurant and there was some garlic in my salad dressing!".

So we had 'em sign things that they won't touch garlic before classes or we were wasting their time, and money and my time. I guess those of you who are pilots or have been in flight tests... I was in flight test engineering in Doc Hallan's group in the 1950's.

The flight surgeon would come around every month and remind all of us: "Don't you dare touch any garlic 72 hours before you fly one of our airplanes, because it'll double or triple your reaction time. You're three times slower than you would be if you'd [not] had a few drops of garlic."

Well, we didn't know why for 20 years later, until I owned the Alpha-Metrics Corporation. We were building biofeedback equipment and found out that garlic totally desynchronizes your brain waves.

So I funded a study at Stanford and, sure enough, they found that it's a poison. You can rub a clove of garlic on your foot - on the sole of your foot - and you can smell it shortly later on your wrists. So it penetrates the body. This is why DMSO smells a lot like garlic: that sulphone hydroxyl ion penetrates all the barriers including the corpus callosum in the brain.

Any of you who are organic gardeners know that if you don't want to use DDT, garlic will kill anything in the way of insects.

Now, most people have heard most of their lives that garlic is good for you, and we put those people in the same class of ignorance as the mothers who at the turn of the century would buy morphine sulphate in the drugstore and give it to their babies to put 'em to sleep.

If you have any patients who have low-grade headaches or attention deficit [disorder], they can't quite focus on the computer in the afternoon, just do an experiment - you owe it to yourselves.

Take those people off garlic and see how much better they get, very, very shortly. And then let them eat a little garlic after about three weeks. They'll say: "My God, I had no idea that this was the cause of our problems." And this includes the de-skunked garlic's, Kyolic, some of the other products.
Very unpopular, but I've got to tell you the truth.

(Source: From a lecture by Dr Robert [Bob] C. Beck, DSc., given at the Whole Life Expo, Seattle, WA, USA, in March 1996)
this the best i got for science.
Do you.  I just thought others might be interested seeing how it makes me feel like complete shit.
my apologies for the /thread

And science has shown that it's a pretty good addition to your diet for GI issues and an immune system boost.

What symptoms does the garlic exasperate? Something as serious as schizophrenia needs to be controlled with medication, and if you really notice a "drastic increase", he is not taking his medication. Garlic will not overpower or interact with any antipsychotic.

he is though.  You dont think schizophrenics still have symptoms while on meds?  da fuk.  I think it is bold to make a statement as your last line when there is no conclusive data on either side.  He eats shitloads of garlic he feels suicidal and symptoms increase.  I chime in and im like garlic makes me feel like shit watch out for it.  He stops he eating garlic and says he has been feeling way better.  No science there, just interesting to me.

I eat garlic and onions somewhat frequently and have never noticed any ill effects from it...

One time at work the homeowner had a little garden full of garlic, I ate a whole bunch of it raw right from the garden, then continued to work in a house with no AC on a 90 somethin' degree day for another 10 hours and I felt fine the whole time, my dad did the same and was fine...

I don't believe this .

ahahahahah
i hope you have a perspective on this shiva

a strain of sweet potato has been used to as an effective method of birth control
celery is nut as well
It's stringy and tastes like crunchy water, but celery is the swizzle stick that can stir up your sex life. Every stalk of the stuff is packed with androstenone and androstenol, two pheromones that can help you attract women the way trailer parks attract tornadoes. (Don't worry, these steroids are different from the steroid androstenedione.)

"When you chew a stalk of celery, you release androstenone and androstenol odor molecules into your mouth. They then travel up the back of your throat to your nose," says Alan Hirsch, M.D., author of Scentsational Sex. "Once there, the pheromones boost your arousal, turning you on and causing your body to send off scents and signals that make you more desirable to women."

Try it next time you're in a bar. Grab the celery from your brother-in-law's Bloody Mary and munch away. "The pheromones take effect immediately, so you should notice the women around you paying more attention to you right away," says Dr. Hirsch

alls im trying to get at here is that plant foods are high in vibration and have a way of communicating with us
