Bridgesii attack

Last winter's cold snap made my tall bridgesii plants all flop over. I cut them, planted them in small pots and rooted them. All of the newly potted cuttings grew at least a foot of new growth. I decided to put them in the ground today, about 12 different cactus. Since they are all top heavy I cut each one in half and placed them in the shade house for them to callous.

On the left you can see newly planted trichocereus brevispinulosus.
They are among the mother bridgesii cactus. Fucking shame about my pupping problem at the tips of the mothers.

Who needs a home security system when you've got a home trichocereus system going? I pity the fool that tries to scale your wall. Looking fantastic as always.

Is trichocereus brevispinulosus active?
I have some terschekii en route to add to my collection of pedros, achumas and torches.
I love collecting cactus - have so many more than 'good' ones - and was just curious if this would be worthwhile to have around in terms of activity.

[ Here's another shot. I don't believe they are active.
Here's a trichocereus thelegonus alongside purported macrogonus and Juul's.

on real cold nights I put cups or boxes over the tips of my columnar cacti, it helps most of the time we don't get too many hard frosts in southern az.
Styrofoam cups stay on better than plastic because the thorns poke into them

That's a great tip I've got all mine crammed into both of my greenhouses but by next year I'm sure I'll have no choice but to keep many outside due to space issues. I'll remember this when the time comes. It doesn't really get too cold here in TX but we do have a few nights in the middle of Dec that get into the 20s.
