Real Life Megalodon Attack?!?!

A friend of mine was just telling me about this, and I just looked into it and what the shit man. I guess on April 5th 2013 of the coast of Cape Town South Africa a group of friends went out for a day of fishing and were never seen from again. At first if was believed they they had been capsized by a breaching whale that was unaware of their presence. This was believed due to the fact that there is absolutely no known sea creature besides whales big enough to have been able to capsize their boat.
The next day a search and rescue team was sent out to see what was up and when they found the wreckage of the boat they were amazed. The thing was torn to shreds and there was no sign of the bodies. This coupled with eaten whale bodies washed up with GIANT bites missing out of them leads scientists to literally believe that the boat was attacked by a fucking Megalodon. Ya that's right, the 60 feet long sharks, as featured in the brethtaking Syfy original Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus.
UUUUMMMM What in the actual fuck!??!
Here's a video that was recovered from the boat, just a word of warning before watching the video. Some of you may consider it relatively graphic and might find it disconcerting.

I mean, the ocean is fucking vast. Like think about how much open ocean there is then how deep it goes. Giant squid are only a recent discover. Not to mention the finding of the coelacanth (spelling?).

A friend of mine SCUBA dives in rivers around here, and finds fossilized megalodon teeth all the time.
But, no, there aren't megalodons swimming around these days.

I went to San Filipe on the sea of Cortez and went swimming. I wanted to commune with the squid but I didn't see any.

@Mescalean He's really really great, the man literally invented modern horror. He primarily worked in the form of short stories so checking out a few of his works should not be much of an investment.

Did you wear one of those chain mail diving suites? I just just picture those beaks taking chunks out man ugh. Nasty things.
I think thats what fascinates me and freaks me out about the ocean. Thats not our home we're vulnerable as fuck. This actually goes for the vast majority of nature. We're squishy, zero armor or protection, we don't have claws. Take away guns and we don't have shit.

The undertow in Acapulco is enough to kill a man.
I had to literally go to a doctor afterwards to get sand removed from my ear.
I also did not encounter any squid.

I went to Puerto Escondido in the winter. Nice little waves. They say that if you're there in October, they are massive - best surfing in all of Mexico.

Nice. Waves in Acapulco bay were actually kinda big.
I remember one night we were getting dinner at a restaurant facing the bay, and locals were skimboarding into the waves, launching like 15 feet in the air and diving into the surf. It was awesome.
Got some pics of that actually, a lot of fun. Looking for them now...

Hey SARA, have you seen the "Fear of the Unknown" Lovecraft documentary?
Check it out if you haven't, I really enjoyed it.
