Dr. Wants me to go back on adderall...

Ultimately the decision is up to me. They use to put me on the shit in late grade all the way through middle school. I would pay attention and then just crash around an hour before they let out. Living dead zombie mode "yah" "nah" answers.
Another thing is I hate uppers. They never fail to make me nauseas. And with my diet for lifting I can't be nauseas all the time.
The shit works though I know it could be a helpful study aid but is it worth that little extra push?
Kinda at crossroads about it right now.

If you go back on it that doesn't mean that you have to take it everyday.
You could just take it whenever you feel that the benefits outweigh the negatives

As others have said you could take it purely as needed if you think it really helps.
Another option is to ask your doctor about other drugs that may not have the same side effects:
Lisdexamfetamine (brand name is Vyvanse) - This is metabolized to d-amphetamine (75% of whats in adderall and the only real active) but it can have fewer side effects for some people. For me taking it at an appropriate dose does away with any jitteriness I may have from adderall however if I take too high of a dose it is worse that adderall.
Modafinil (brand name Provigil) - Depending on your actual symptoms (and cause of them) this could be more suitable. It isn't a classic stimulant, it is a "wakefullness promoting agent". If your lack of concentration is because of your brain being tired and your brain basically telling you it is too lazy to focus this could work very well for you. When I have taken it it has increased my focus tremendously. No amphetamine like side effects for me either. The only downside is that I can concentrate TOO MUCH on a single thing and it makes it very, very hard for me to multitask. In a lot of situations this can be a very good thing, in others it could be bad, just depends on your needs.

Also, were you on IR (instant release) or XR (extended release) before?
Some people need the IR for a "jump start" so their day and then are fine afterwards, others tend to crash on it.
Some people do really well with XR to help it last a lot longer. The dosage for XR is basically delivered as 50% instant and then 50% is time release that lasts about 8-ish hours.
I myself like IR because when I use it I do it to self medicate as needed and like to come down right after I get whatever done I needed to do. If you need it to increase concentration all day then XR may be a better choice. I do know 1 person that seems immune to the time released half of the XR dosage, they only respond ot the initial instant release half and then slump off.
*****
Depending on which you were taking before and how much you need it to concentrate throughout the day you may want to discuss different dosages of each with your doc. If you were on say 30 mg IR before, maybe try 2 x 15 mg IR taken of a morning then right before you crash. Or try getting 30mg XR and see if its enough to last all day.

I had the xr. I want to say 30mg?
All stims make me nauseas. Come with the territory for me. Weed helps counter act the nausea but it gets expensive with almost daily use.

Maybe you could try something like nootropics before going back on amphetamines if you don't want to be on them and crash/suffer the anorexic effects.

In my opinion, don't go on the amphetamines. Opiates, amphetamines, benzos. All make things better in the short run but fuck everything up in the long term.
