Have a court date for running a red light any advice?

So I blatantly ran a redlight cause im dumb but heres the story. I was at this redlight that takes forever it was 11:30 no cars were coming I could see a long way off in the both directions the one thing I didn't see was the cop acroos the street with his lights off. So he watched me do it I didn't have the insurance card with me he gave me one for that too but I just had to show proof later his quote " I believe you have insurance but im gonna make you show me". Any way after that I went to the magistrate showed him the insurance asked it they could do anything about lessening the charges they said the cop would have to agree to it. I tried a bunch of times to get a hold of this guy meeting him at the sheriffs station when he was supposed to be there he never was there. What really got me there was I went up there at 11pm when he was supposed to be on duty. I guess apparently they don't have to come in to go on duty since they take the car home with them. The lady up there got a hold of him I specifically told her I wasn't trying to get the ticket dropped I was just hoping to get it made a non moving violation so it wouldn't put points on my license because of insurance and also because I was trying to get a new job and a lot of jobs Ive been looking at want a clean driving record. Anyway she comes back and says he wont drop the ticket I don't know exactly how she asked him but it would have been better if I could have spoken to him myself. Well she says he might be in at like 12am or a little later so I go to walmart for a minute to kill some time come back ask her if he might come in soon and shes like oh e came in right after you left (seemed fishy to me). So the next day went back to the magistrate and asked for an actual hearing so maybe he wont show up that would be the best then I could ask for it to be dismissed. If he does show I don't know what to say I definitely did it I would just like to get it moved to a lesser charge if that's the case Ive read on the internets that's something to ask for. Anyway the only thing I figure I will be out is my time and whatever money I was to make till I can get to work that day. Has anyone been o=in this situation before what can I expect are there any good websites to look at for this all the ones I have found involve speeding. Any help would be a appreciated.

Break in to his house wake him up with a gun pointed at his face, tell him to drop it or you'll be back.
Or just go to court, the insurance thing should get dropped, I've seen it happen many times...

I mean as long as I showed proof he said he would drop the insurance which was good> I normally might pay the ticket and say fuck it at that point but I really need a new job and this might hold me back and I cant really afford the hike in the insurance I know I should have thought of that before but damn we all make mistakes.

I've never seen anyone have a problem getting a no insurance ticket dropped if they went to court and showed proof of insurance...

The OP was TL;DR for me, but every time I get a moving violation ticket such as speeding, stop sign, red light, etc.. I just take it to one of the "Ticket Clinic" places.
You're basically hiring a lawyer for 60-100 dollars to go to court for you. I've had 100% success rate with ticket clinic lawyers. Mine charges $79.99 and after the case is dismissed I get a bill for "court fees" ranging from $100-150 about 4 months later.
So the total price comes out to around what it would cost to pay the ticket, but the great thing is you don't receive any points on your license and you don't have to go to traffic school.
I've done this around 15 times in my 12 years of driving. Check it out and good luck.

you might have a chance if you say you thought the light was malfunctioning. This happen to me once. I came to a red light and there I sat like at 3 am I sat and sat. I finnally just went. In my rear few mirror that light contiuned to stay Red until I could no longer see it so obvously there was something wrong with it. NO cop saw me though. Things malfunction. It might work. It there burden of proof

In that situation couldn't you just do a right turn followed by a u-turn and another right turn? (Assuming that u-turns and right turns on red are legal where you are obviously.)
