Day 8 No PINS?! HQ pics

The subject says it all...
These are my trays as of today, they have been in their SGFC for 8 days now and I still haven't seen any sign of pins beginning to form. Is this NORMAL? Im getting nervous. This is my first grow and its gone so well till now. Would hate to have a fail this far into it.
Can you guys give me your opinion on whats going on?

Tell us more.
What substrate did you use? Did you mix it or layer it? How long ago did you spawn them?

I'm a total noob friend, so this is not expert advice at all, but they may not have been fully colonized when you put them in there, or maybe they're not getting enough light or FAE. From what i've read they're the triggers that get them pinning. Also, it doesn't look like there's anything wrong, so i'd just be patient and wait it out. Hopefully someone else will chime in and help you out...all I can do is cross my fingers for ya...good luck!!

Evaporation of water and depleting nutrients are the main pinning triggers.
Also, knowing what he used and how he used it is what's important here. What, when and how.

Yeah that's my thought as well.
I bulk, not case but usually it would take around 14 days in the fc(put in after 100% colonized) before pinning started.

If you cased it, the casing layer wouldn't be colonized and the myc will typically peek through. Like so;
 Waiting. I know it's a drag.

Look at the chamber. I doubt those are a concern.

Two grow bags, each with 2 lbs of sterilized, hydrated rye with self healing injector sites.
Day 19 after inoculation with a B+ MS syringe:

Both bags were cased with a pasteurized 50/50+ mix and introduced to fruiting conditions the same day. I used RR's tek for my SGFC design. Im using two of them, each with about 5 inches of damp perlite in the bottom and holes every 2x2 inches on all sides.
I cased a total of 4qts of fully colonized rye with 6qts 50/50+ mix. 1/4in of mix, 1qt of spawn, topped of with 3/4in of mix per tray.
I've been misting and fanning about 4 times a day. The substrate is noticeably dry just before misting, i spray the walls of the their SGFC and mist the tray until the casing looks to be at field capacity, then I fan immediately after to help promote the evaporation process.
Those particular pictures were taken right after a good misting.
Heres a look at the setup:
1 modification after the pic: there is a 2 in strip across without plastic on the top to get better air flow.
Day 3 in FC:

Day 5 in FC:
 .
Hope you guys can have a better idea with this info

Hmmm, sorry if i am misunderstanding... When you say "spawn" you mean it as in a verb, like "spawning" the 100% colonized rye to a bulk sub like coir/ver, or hpoo? I didnt "spawn" to anything. I simply cased the fully colonized rye with a 50/50+ mix. Then put the 4 trays into their SGFC right away. They have been in their FC for 7 or 8 days now.

Jars/bags/tubs/trays should colonize @ room temperature getting ambient/indirect light.
Main pinning triggers are full colonization, FAE and Evaporation off of the substrate.
Light is a secondary pinning trigger. For tropical species temperature is not a pinning factor.
Light has been proven beneficial during all stages of mycellium growth. Mushrooms like mammals have a circadian rhythm.
You want ambient/indirect light(on a 12/12 schedule preferably) for colonization and consolidation.
You want direct/intense 6500K light on a 12/12 schedule for fruiting.
Mycelium should be exposed to ambient room light from day of inoculation as has been known for many years. Light is not a pinning trigger until after full colonization and an increase in air is given, and even then it's a secondary pinning trigger. RR

To spawn is to use a colonized substrate (typically grain spawn) and "spawn" it to your bulking or casing substrate. Whatever that may be.
People usually cover the top with vented foil (slits in it) for a week or two to allow the spawn to recoop and get a hold of it's new substrate. You could be three weeks from a pin. Do some research on casing consolidation.

We do not consolidate our casing layers, and bulk substrate does not require consolidation, you can fruit right at 100%.

Isn't consolidating "waiting to be 100% colonized" Which obviously casing layers shouldn't 100% (lack of nutrients)
My vocabulary isn't like it used to be :P

Nope. Consolidating is letting it sit for a while after 100% colonization.

i ask because the growth almost looks off and he stated he's misting till it appears to be at field capacity, may be too wet

Nope. Consolidating is letting it sit for a while after 100% colonization.

Consolidation is the act of the mycellium digesting the highly nutritious substrate it has colonized.
