Is dunking before spawning widely practiced?

I jjusstt read about it for the first time the other day, and was amazing by the results that frankhorrigan got!
Then I see his tek of it is over a year old. So, has this new tek been embraced? Have others found that it helps? Do you find that your contam rates stay the same while employing this tek?
My bulk substrates have always been a bit on the wet side (might change when I try frankhorrigans method of pasteurization) so I am a tad worried that dunking my grains might add to this problem of too much moisture.
But in general, is this tek effective AND as contam resistant as frank claims?

Anyone who tries it says they get great results. Have you seen the agar side by side that Frank did? I think its pretty definitive.

yes it was quite clear that it helped. Glad to know those were isolates.
I just wanted a couple other people to have similar results before I risk my precious colonized grains on a new tek.

yeah I realize its been around a while, just new to me.
thanks for the input everyone! Havn't heard a single bad thing about it so it seems like I'd be an idiot not to.
Its like the difference between dunking or not dunking cakes (if you're nooby enough to still be doing cakes )

I've been dunking my spawn most of the time but I don't really see much of a difference. it's still always about 7-9 days to colonize the coir I spawn dunk or not. Since I haven't seen any extra contams or a decrease in productivity I still do it usually.

Honestly I think I have seen a increase in colonization and pinset but maybe my overall technique had just gotten better

Contamination rate is lower since substrate get colonized much faster IMO.
