inoculation to mycelium?
    #19240707 - 12/07/13 12:37 PM (10 years, 1 month ago)

Hi guys, I recently got some sterilized rye berries online with a self healing inoculation patch as well as a psilocybe syringe, was wondering the amount of time it takes for the inoculated berries to turn into a fully developed block of mycelium? I'm very aware of the conditions necessary for growth, I've had an extremely hard time sterilizing my own materials and once I have mycelium I will be golden for flushes, its just this step that always gets me, and I really really really want to do mushrooms badly, been a few years since I had my favorite psychedelic.

This question is always asked and has no definitive answer. It can range from 10 days to 3 weeks, maybe earlier, maybe later

That is just the answer I wanted, I'm going to be away for 9 days after the inoc, I wasn't sure if I would miss the opportunity to wash my cakes before contamination. I was planning on splitting the mycelium up into cakes for storage after the initial growth has succeeded.

Just store your colonizing bag in a cold place to slow down growth if you're looking to buy time. DO NOT expose the grain until you are ready to spawn it.
