Strange looking fruit

I just wanted to post these pictures to help identify the problem with these mushrooms. They're just weird looking and I'm not sure if the substrate has gone bad or if they're even safe to eat. These are just the bad ones that I picked today, the tray still has dozens of other pins and small fruits that look healthy, albeit growth might have slowed down due to these mutants hogging all the resources.

Here are some pics of a container in the same batch (same recipe, same dates and times).

first pics looked like heavy, dense fuzzy feet. it's all good to eat!
try to explain your setup if you want any advice on what to do differently.

Did you case or bulk?
Try not to rip any substrate out when cutting. You want to leave little stumps behind, not a patch of exposed grain.
If you cased, patch your sub before you push the next flush.
If it's only a cluster of your grow that concerns you, IMO, it's one of two thing. 1, maybe the air exchange isn't sufficient in that corner of the tub 2, genetics. We sometimes get fugly shrooms in a batch. Multispore means more genetic variation. There's bound to be some genetic defects.

I have an automated mini greenhouse with 5 shelves. Cool mist on the bottom shelf next to an opening. Ultra sonic on the top shelf. Varying run times to keep 85-95% RH. Perlite in the bottom as well.
The ones pictured above are from straight rye cased on top with a pH balanced peat moss/verm mix.
The reason they look a little rough is because they were growing out of the crack that forms where the substrate pulls away from the wall of the container. So their base was practically on the bottom of the substrate which makes for difficult harvesting. Usually I just use clean scissors and snip away the fibers that are attached to the base of the fruit.
Just wanted to make sure I didn't have some kind of bacterial of competitor fungus problem!

Sounds great!
I'm sure you are aware of what an aborted fruit looks like? The small pale ones that stopped growing (what seems to be on the dehydrator rack) They are said to be more potent by weight compared to a full grown fruit. Just a tip, hold onto those

Well I'm not sure about the actual biology behind aborts but the fruits in question were growing fatter but not taller. The stipe was just getting bigger and bigger over the last couple days. I considered waiting for the veil to rip but the caps seemed to be... imploding? So I harvested them. They were also abnormally fuzzy, something I think is due to the strain (all of them are doing that, despite good FAE).
And Icesyn, I've tried aborts before and had a great experience with them. Particularly nice in tea
