The little ocean on the North Pole is suppose to contain 25% of the earths resources.
Russia already claimed a lot. Canada is trying claim a huge chunk of it.
Who's gonna get it?
Right now its Canada, Russia, US, Norway and Denmark.
Technically, Norway Denmark and the US are the small players here, so it's gonna be between Russia and Canada. I can totally see a war being declared over this issue.
How do you guys think this will end up?

Did you read the article over at The Diplomat as well?
There is no confirmation that these vast deposits surely exist yet, so it's still kind of up in the air in my opinion.

The US will provide military assistance to Canada and in return we get 50 percent the Russians are bombed back into the dark ages and all is good

So you're advocating for WW3? It's clear you don't have a grasp on current geopolitics.

If there are resources, the US won't avail themselves of them. After all, isn't there an Artic Whale Shit Worm or some other animal to protect from the evil, exploitive capitalists?

Or by time these resources would be economically feasible, energy sources that aren't destroying the planet may not be "alternative" any more.

I can totally see the 50/50 split happening.
As for declaring war we can't possibly win vs the Russians isn't the best idea...

No better is they will start conscription and give Mush a rifle, a backpack and a canteen of water and set him out to hunt the enemy in the night. Oh, yeah those progressives who don't have a silver spoon up their ass are gonna have a lot of fun as conscripts in the US military. Of course if you happen to be connected to a Kennedy, Clinton, Bush etc you won't have to go.

Yeah, pretty sure we're gonna have to divvy those up fairly and peacefully. Canada will be stuck in the middle of a war between the US and Russia via the North Pole.
Canada rules, let's keep it not a smoking wasteland.

Canada is a puppet state of the USA. They will do what we command. If that command is to go to war, they will send their young men of women out of their measly 35 million population (less than the state of California) to war for promises of "freedom" and "honor."

Hey, we dodged Iraq pretty good. Your chumps got to die in a desert without our help.

It's funny a few years ago I was hanging out with a lawyer who said there had been a Canadian oil spill in Arctic and it had been covered up. They paid a fine and that was it. Polar bears aren't going to complain. I am against Arctic drilling, if the gulf was that hard to clean up imagine the north pole.
