Is it wrong to be provocative?
    #1923793 - 09/17/03 01:41 AM (13 years, 2 months ago)

Or is being provocative as a technique to wake people up such an inherently aggressive maneuver that it generates more heat than light?

Does it only evoke the fight or flight response in the target, lowering him to base animal reactions, bypassing his reason altogether? Or does it shock him into reflection?

So if being provocative works on some people, is it right to use it as a tactic in those cases?
How can you be sure you're doing more good than harm?

"works on some people, is it right to use it as a tactic in those cases? "

hmmm a tactic for what? "works" on some people? that sounds like you have bad intentions ha "what are you trying to DO to us?!"

--------------------
Insert an "I think" mentally in front of eveything I say that seems sketchy, because I certainly don't KNOW much. Also; feel free to yell at me.

I find that it just depends on how rooted they are in this negative, low energy center... Some people don't reflect, so they have to learn how to reflect first before they even read your words.. heh.

In the specific case that I believe you are talking about, the person is going to have to learn how to reflect before he can be shocked into reflection... Our words do not help at the moment.
Peace.

Forced enlightenment. Sounds cultish. Arrogent.

i believe that trying to enlighten others like that, just by showing them your way of "enlightenment" does not allow them to complete the process that people must go through to achieve (for lack of better word)enlightenment. You can't help them as such, although you can just be friendly, be yourself, and soon people will see a way other than theirs, and if they are not yet searching, they will start.

I'm saying this after reading most of Ken Wilber's Theory of Everything, btw, so what I just said is totally influenced by that book (and some of what i've thought of before) :-)

Moonies - followers of 'Rev.' Sun Myung Moon were taught the 'art' of 'spiritual deception' which included misrepresenting themselves while selling junk to raise money for the 'church' (because the public was already turned off to Moonies). In essence, it was taught that lying was OK in the service of Rev. Moon's cause. This Luciferian 'beyond good and evil' philosophy is born of the same spiritual pride that Lucifer represents, while appearing as 'Light Bearer.' Awakening comes from within, and derives from a purely Transcendental Source, not someone's presumptuous ego-inflated self.
