Self Realizations & Changes in Life
    #19237458 - 12/06/13 05:00 PM (10 years, 1 month ago)

I have to thank weed for making me realize what mistakes I've been making.

I've discovered that I have nothing in common with my girlfriend, from music tastes and hobbies to political and religious views.

For 2 and a half years I've put up with her getting upset when I go out with my life long friends, and after looking inward I've come to conclude it is time to take my life over once more.

Over the last 8 weeks I've been examining myself, and our relationship.  After letting my thoughts settle, I've concluded it's time to break up.  It is a shitty time of year to do it, but I want to be my own man once again.

I'm just curious, has anyone else made the choice between a partner and living the life of a tripper?  Thoughts?  Comments?

Exactly.  I literally just got off the phone breaking up and I feel several hundred richer already.  Now to go smoke a bowl and enjoy the start of my new life.

Weed does let you see things how they really are. I feel like i can tell when people are lying when im high. does anyone else get that? Not that i question everything but like body language and demeanor bout things.

Breaking up with someone is never good timing. You must give yourself credit for going through and not pointing the finger at something else for an excuse, and owning up to what has been a mistake! Taking it with a grain of salt and calling it a day.

If you believe you have done whats best for yourself then you have done what is best for yourself.

Weed actually just shows me both sides of the argument and leaves me confused because they both seem like total clarity.

Anyways OP, gotta do what's best for you. I've had that issue before after a mushroom trip but i gave it a couple weeks of distance and things got better. They eventually ended anyways but oh well. I'm starting to think i'm not very cut out for relationships in general

I've always questioned things and been curious.  Kinda what got me into drugs in the first place.

I have no regrets though, and I have nothing against her.  We had fun together, but our lifestyles are not compatible.  She hates "stupid people" a.k.a. anyone who ingests anything to alter their state.  Next day she'll be going on about hating labels and yet she labels people like her own boyfriend as stupid people.  I'm on a website by the name of "shroomery" who are we fooling?

This all began with a bag of mushrooms back in September.  It made me begin to look at myself, and what I want in life.  I'm too young to settle down and she was hoping for that.

Well, it's really about whether or not you have a compatible partner, and nothing to do with tripping.

Sounds like you made the right decision if she was always getting upset with you. Many people can have major differences of opinion and still have a very satisfying relationship, but not if you are arguing all of the time.

Very true.

I must say, I've haven't felt this way in a long time.  I like it.
