My first time using black trash bag liner and significantly less side pinning....

So, I was always told, and read that light does not inhibit side pinning. And it was best to use the most flimsy trash bag liners so they would stick to the sub. Always, always had tons of side pins. Liner never really shrunk with the sub as the side pins would push it out anyway. Finally went with black liner and exponentially decreased amount of side pins. Is it not safe to say, light can seriously inhibit pinning in that case.
Granted, on the surface mind you you will get pins more likely due to FAE and RH. In spots where there isn't as much FAE and RH light is all it's got to work with, and hence, uses the shit out of it. Actually, some of my biggest yields were from side pins. An old set up of mine was a 4 tier mini greenhouse with tubs on and even the most ambient of light cause the bottoms of the tubs to always have a lot of pins and fruits. ATM my tubs are all on the ground so no light gets on the bottom of the tubs, and there are no pins or fruits on the bottom.
I'd rather curb them however, and get more from the top. But, in my experience, light is a serious pinning initiator in areas otherwise void of FAE and RH. I'm sorry if this has been covered before, but I've always read and been told otherwise.

It's not the light that causes side pins, my friend.
And you have it backwards, a thick liner will perform way better than a flimsy one. All mine are 3.5mil thick and I get zero side pins (ever, to be honest), whether they are clear liners or black

Like I said I started out on teks and threads that said the opposite. That flimsy bags would adhere to the sub and shrink with In turn not allowing RH and FAE to the sides.
Obviously this is not the case as I've since come to find out.
So are you saying my side pins are only now suppressed because I've since used a sturdier liner? And nothing to do with the fact that it's not letting in light? And if so, why woulda. Sturdier liner suppress more over a flimsier?
That still has me puzzled on why my tubs used to get bottom pins, and since being on the floor even with clear liner, I have none. Genetics?

I've never seen genetics that force side pins
But I had a lot of trouble with side pins using flimsy liners.
I would imagine thicker liners work better because it goes on with fewer wrinkles and creases that can cause pockets of air..especially on the sides.
Try a similar thick but clear liner and see what you think
