Samurai Combat Workouts and my results
    #19236029 - 12/06/13 11:16 AM (10 years, 1 month ago)

Hey Guys, I am training for combat. I wanted to share with you my unarmed combat workout routines (the ones I use, I didn't make them). Each day you just do the warm up, the same one every day, then any one of the following combat training videos. If you feel up to it you can sometimes do two a day. Every week or so you should take one day of rest and do just stretching.

Here are the combat workouts. They kick ass, will get you in amazing shape and will prepare you for combat.

They are not a substitute for actual sparring and professional one on one instruction from a martial arts class, but they are the next best thing and an excellent supplement for any martial artist.

Enjoy! I have done it all, P90x and Jillian Michaels and other popular workout videos, but coach Cozak and Hasfit are the best of the best. He is an amazing trainer who really motivates you to push yourself to your limits.

I am still working hard, but here are photos I took today of my progress with this system. I know I am still skinny and I am trying to gain weight with protein powder and creatine.

Those are the results I have gotten from using this combat system, and I am learning combat skills at the same time.

I really think you will enjoy this. Coach Kozac is an MMA champion so he knows what he is talking about.

Here are the combat videos, 100 percent free and complete!

Warm Up (do this every time before your combat training and again as a cool down afterwards)

UFC TRAINING MMA WORKOUT

20 Minute MMA Training Exercise - HASfit Mixed Martial Arts

HASfit's Ultimate Warrior

Cardio Kickboxing Workout

Famous Aerobic Cardio Kickboxing Workout

Enjoy! These workouts will make you look great, feel great and be ready for a fight!

Here are a few more results photos. I know my body is not that big but I wanted to show the results I have gotten so far from the workouts, so you can see how they work.

Thanks.

I try to eat primarily vegetables, fruits and lean proteins such as elk, bison, venison and freshwater fish.

I try to eat a high calorie, high protein, high healthy fat diet that is low on carbs and has zero refined sugars or corn syrups.

I drink only reverse osmosis purified water , lots of it, and take 2 scoops of natural norwegian why protein isolate powder a day and one scoop of creatine monohydrate.

I try to eat as much and as often as possible as I am trying hard to go from my current weight (180) up to 190 pounds.

It is hard for me to gain weight.

I try to eat lots of spinach and leafy greens, and lots of eggs, game meat, bison, freshwater fish and turkey. I eat lots of greek yogurt and a fair bit of cheese.

If I eat bread its whole wheat, multi grain or sprouted.

Thanks for posting the videos man.

I've been slacking recently on working out and I'm starting to gain too much weight (fat).
I used to be like you where it was almost impossible to gain weight unless I was eating over 3500 calories a day.

Then I hit 25 years old, and since then if I don't stay somewhat active, I start gaining weight really quickly.

Your diet sounds pretty much the same as mine, except for the game meats, and I primarily eat saltwater fish.

Anyways, you look like you're getting in great shape. I'm gonna give this a go.

How tall are you if you don't mind me asking?
I'm wondering because I'm barely 5'9" and my goal is 175 right now.

Is that because norwegian protein powder is better regulated or something? I read a consumer reports thing where they found dangerously high levels of heavy metals in most US protein powder, so I quit taking it and have not gained a pound since, I think I might have even lost a couple. If I found a trusted source I would get back on it.

Thanks bro that's really nice of you to say. And yes Norwegian whey is supposed to be the best, healthy non gmo organic cows well taken care of, no artificial sweeteners or weird shit in it. I got some more generic stuff before and this Norwegian stuff tastes and feels much better.

Trust me guys coach kozac is a fantastic trainer and his workouts are the best!

And these ones are designed to be combat applicable.

Moonshoe your hot bod is only a little bit more sexy than mine.  We actually have a very similar build you can just tell you actually do specific work outs and I just "work" lol.  I have larger forearms though and our pecs are the same (we both need some work there IMO unless we want to stay lean and somewhat flat chested).  I like your cute little nipples - they remind me of my own :awesome:

That was the gayest post I've ever made   Or maybe not.  Cool thread bro.  I kinda look like acaterpillar too; lean and sexy.  Fuck it I can admit when another man looks good   If only I was actually interested in men, then maybe I'd be seeing some action on a consistent basis   I just do drugs instead :okay:

:gayflag:

We have a similar diet and I workout 5 days a week... why don't I look like you? Maybe I do too much cardio. Any tips for burning off the last of my belly fat? I have a "4 pack" but I can't get that extra 2-3 pounds to burn off my lower belly. Do you think it's just a diet thing? Sometimes I get too high and eat too much garbage

Seriously though dude you should be proud of your physique. I'm gonna look into adding some of these workouts into my regimen.

For what it's worth I eat junk food somewhat often, and then other times I don't eat, but when I eat I eat mostly carbs and calories cuz my metabolism just devours them - foodwise this includes a shitload of meat (beef, steak, bacon, pork, chicken, turkey, fish occasionally) eggs sometimes, bread, potatoes, sometimes spinach/lettuce/tomatoes and other somewhat disgusting vegetables when they're diluted on sammiches or pizza.  I ate a salad once.  Sometimes I eat fruit.  I drink a ton of water and I love milk too (I think both of those are important to a good diet, well, water at least for sureeee).  Juice.. umm, cereal (good stuff like multigrain cheerios) and then for the days when I'm lazy I'll just eat a TV dinner or something I can microwave.  Ramen when there's nothing else left.

I also take a multivitamin and some supplements every day not sure how effective they are but I figure if they even help a little bit then why not.  (HEY MOONSHOE WHAT IS YOUR TAKE ON A MULTIVITAMIN AND SUPPLEMENTS FOR A HEALTHY DIET???)  I know you could answer that for me!

I seriously look like moonshoe, I don't think I've seen such a similar body.  Well like I said acat looks really close to me too.  Our chests are IDENTICAL.  I would not be surprised if we are long lost relatives because our torso to our shoulders have the exact same consistency/density or whatever.  Moonshoe just works his a bit more so it's a tad bigger is all.

Like I said though man work on your pecs a bit more IMO, and your forearms.. you got dem chicken forearms  nah I'm just messing they're fine but they do look a bit out of proportion to your nice biceps which a bigger than mine :frown:

But your shoulders/chest... you stole my fucking build you bastard!

Or maybe I stole yours   I'm pretty sure you've got a few years on me.

Yeah I got to get bigger forearms for sure!

I take lots of supplements, I recommend em. I don't take a multivitamin but I take vitamin d, b vitamin complex, whey protein, creatine, citicoline, noopept, Norwegian kelp, magnesium, melatonin... And at other times I take lots of other things , search the magic keys to everything thread for a complete list!

I love yoga! Yoga is amazing I want to do it my whole life, along with martial arts.

If you want to gain muscle you need to do some weight lifting along with your yoga, and / or plyometrics, push-ups and chin ups etc. also take some protein power and creatine every day. And do hasfit videos!

Keep up the yoga !

You're in good shape it appears Moonshoe!

I personally weigh only 130-140 but I'm in decent shape for my weight. I eat junk food, but also eat just as much "healthy" foods as recommended as well as nutrients.
I'm not quite as concerned about the need for combat as you are, but I will get my muscle weight up again once my body has fully recovered from surgery (I lost an enormous amount of weight afterwards).
Technically speaking, I should be quite more adept in violent situations than most, seeing as I typically weigh 160 with zero fat at 5'7", have karate and self defense training, and I have a titanium spine

But right now, face to face Moonshoe, you could almost definitely kick my ass

It's cool that you are getting in shape, but im not sure how this really teaches you about self defense.

If you want to get some muscle I'd just start with some actual weight training and you can do cardio on the side.

Good job either way.

agree with above. all of these video programs are good for cardio, and you might build a bit of muscle, but nothing is superior to free weight lifting for strength gains. if you ever take classes, don't bother with karate or those types of fighting styles. it's a load of crap
try to find an instructor who works with military. it'll cost about $100 per hour session but it's definitely worth it if you want to realistically defend yourself

You're welcome MS
Yeah I've had one Krav Maga lesson. When I took that I could just tellthat my other martial arts were a bit of bullshit haha
Then the youth in my area (Like people 17-23 I think is the oldest) started a sort of "fight club".. That's where I really learned how to fight

Is anonymously mentioning this on the internet breaking rule one and two???

Well, the videos are designed to strengthen and condition the body in ways that are needed for mma fighting performance. If you do the videos you will understand. They condition you for both striking and grappling. They help you Improve your striking skills, and the strength and endurance you need for fighting.

Like I said the videos are not a substitute for martial arts classes but they are ideal conditioning and training for martial artists, allowing you to sustain the high intensity of energy expenditure needed for a right.

If you do the videos I am sure you will see how they prepare you for combat - balance, explosive strength, coordination, technique,  stamina- all are improved in these videos.

I have take. Krav Maga and it is awesome. I want to do more. Most of my background is in judo which is an amazing martial art and I love it! I am going to finish getting my black belt in judo. I here y have a green belt. It goes white yellow green blue brown black so I'm half way there.

I used to compete in judo and I actually beat a black belt and a brown belt in competition. I won a few gold , silver and bronze metals at the provincial and Inter provincial levels.

I wish I had continued my training but it was hard to do with school. Now that I have graduated with my masters my next major life goal is to get a black belt and learn a second language.

I've never taken any Judo lessons but I've seen a few practice it. Quite impressive :yesnod:
I think once I'm recovered I'm going to begin scheduled Krav Maga training though, out of all the combat training/sparing I've seen it seems the most useful to me.
IMO there's a reason Israel is commanding the "free world"

Krav Maga is the most practical system of self defence. Ju jitsu and Muay Thai are also great. However I won't do any striking martial art where you get hit in the head, because the science has now revealed how damaging being hit in the head is to the brain.

I want to get my black belt in judo and also take Krav Maga classes.

Just browsing and your title caught my attention.
I'm a freshly Certified personal trainer with Specialist in Fitness Nutrition, I didn't watch any of the vids yet since I'm currently limited to myphone, but  definitely bookmarking to watch later, maybe some things I could incorporate I into my training.

*** before you continue to read I'd like to re iterate that I said freshly certified, meaning my text book knowledge is fresh, but zero practical experience besides staying in shape myself in my 26 years of existence. i am by no means a fitness guru of any kind, but I know a little bit lol.

Your nutrition is spot on. You hit all the main points, lots of veggies, lean protein, and no processed garbage. How many grams of protein are you getting in daily?

Your in great shape, and with those videos your probably well conditioned. If you want to bulk up you need to be eating 1-2 grams of protein per pound of body weight daily. Since your 180 Ish that means you should be eating 180 on light training days and maybe 250 or more on heavy training days, which leads me to my next point.

If you want bulk, you need resistance training, period. And then you need protein.  Cardio is great for building up your aerobic system, and some routines (maybe like your videos?) Do involve some light to moderate resistance training to keep some balance with your anaerobic system. That will only get you so far, and I'd say your about there.

You need to dedicate some of your training schedule to solid anaerobic resistance training. If your not a gym guy just find some dumbells from maybe 10 to 40 or 50. A selective dumbell set is absolutely great for home use, its actually all I have besides perfect push ups. I have a golds gym set, my dad has power blocks, there are some others, but the two I've used I like equally.

Try and get some protein in within 30 minutes of working out.
I feel like there's a few things I'm missing, but there's some basics. But I'm going to play in the snow haha. Keep up the good work.

Long story short, hasfit program is going to hit a plateau for you soon.

If your true fitness goal is to get to 190 via lean muscle gains, you need to do it via calorie surplus and Weight Lifting.

IMO you and Wife should start a gym membership and use hasfit as a form of cardio.

I am also doing lots of chin ups, pushups and exercises with a 30 pound dumbbell.

Cant remember who asked but kung fu kicks ass and will definitely help your self defense.

There are no bad martial arts and all of them are useful and valid. The best thing is to learn more than one. The most practical is probably krav maga, but they will all get you in crazy shape and give you confidence and technique, and that will help you in a self defence situation whether you take ju jitsu, kickboxing, tae kwan do or tai chi.

That old guy is inspiring!

before class we had to bow in front of our swords and wipe it like 100 times on each side with oil then 100 times again on each side to wipe it off.

bow some more and shit.

The sword classes were a specific discipline, that's the one I can't remember.

yeah not being able to remember the name of your karate style would be pretty fucked

Kendo is fucking awesome. Would love to train in kendo some day.

Yeah kendo is Japanese fencing. It is extremely cool and the armour they wear for it looks so badass.

I would love to take it but I think I'm going to focus on getting my black belt in judo and supplementing with Krav Maga classes for extra self defence skills. Judo Is very applicable for real combat but on it's not enough to prepare you fully for a street fight.

Judo and Krav should give me an excellent combat toolkit, especially supplemented with the hasfit mma and kickboxing workouts in the OP.
