Hi, I have 4 cakes in my SGFC at the moment. One has fruited nicely is is onto second flush. However one of my cakes has weird white blobs, i first thought it was mycelium reaching out but im having second thoughts any info would be greatly appreciated.
This is a nice fat one from my first flush.

The aforementioned cake, edit the bumps to the left of the second pic are pearlite from when it fell over.

Does it feel like mushroom tissue? Does it snell bad or like myc/mushies? Ive gotten growths on cakes before that just ended up being tissue that could be eaten like mushies..but if it smells funky its always a bad sign..

I've noticed having cakes get what looks like "aerial" mycelium but seems moist and spongy to the touch is a reaction to a bacterial contamination. It will likely fruit and eventually start to turn yellowish orange. Aerial mycelium more fuzzy while the bumps are more dense. Your cakes don't look bad though I think you'll be fine.

Cheers for the replys, it iss only on one cake so it shouldent be too bad. if it starts to turn south I will just toss the bugger.

I wouldn't be to worried, just toss if it goes south like you said. If anything it's either nothing or bacterial, and bacterial isn't as bad as having a rogue mold drop spores. It's probably still going to fruit anyway.
