Is this particular to hpoo?
    #19232030 - 12/05/13 04:25 PM (10 years, 1 month ago)

Hi all!

I had made a mini sgfc for just one or two pins to come out (needed to produce a print). The pins came out of a sort of mini tray of hpoo mixed to myc, the ratio was ridicule, something like 1/30, the spawn run was slow as imagined. Then once colonized I added about 1/3" of verm to case it and started the FC process...

After I made the prints I needed, I no longer had a use for this setup, it was too small to yield anything of value except for a print. So I just let it sit there.

A month later, 2 more fruits are showing up... All this time, I had not misted nor fanned... Once I saw them I misted once, fanned, then the next day fanned again, 2 days later I harversted...

But still can't believe my substrate gave a 2nd flush without me attending to it at all....

It's as if the sgfc needed moist perlite, a wet casing, and then nothing else?
Is there any explanation to this?
May it have something to do with my substrate?

Thanks

Mushrooms will either dry up or fruit pretty much, so long as it has enough moisture in the substrate it will push out some mushrooms, it wants to live on. They definitely don't *need* FAE either, leave a colonizing jar alone long enough and it will be full of mushrooms, you just won't be getting very many without FAE or a proper amount of water, but you'll still get some.
