The "green" beer thing is a myth. Many styles are best fresh (even certain lagers).  If you're actually tasting a green apple flavor it's likely acetaldehyde and it's extremely unlikely that it will diminish below the taste threshold in a reasonable time frame from simple aging in bottles.

'green' doesn't' mean apple flavor.  Aging a beer brings out a different flavor, allows malt profiles to change character.  If you've ever brewed a beer and tried drinking a beer one week after bottling, two weeks after, three weeks after, four, you'll notice an improvement in most styles up to around 4-5 weeks of bottling.

Nice work Maverick!

I generally tend to steer clear of lagers, but that looks good enough to drink.

Of course a bit of aging will mellow certain styles. However, the "green" flavor most people refer to IS a green apple, fresh cut grass, or pumpkiny flavor which is undeniably acetaldehyde. Of course this could all be semantics as it's very likely that different people will use the phrase differently, but 90% of the times I've heard it said this is what they are referring to.
