Re-Hydration Theory

I theorize that rehydration of cakes for belong in a still air, moisture environment. Example, I've conceived this shape, where the middle square is rotatable so that the holes align. When they are opposite, it creates a current-distance and a still air zone. I theorize that if a formation water/moisture was kept at the still air zone (where the mushrooms are), that it will rehydrate the cake properly.
(the squares could also be cubes
Example: I am reminded of Paul stamets speaking of an underground labyrinth/ruin where there was a spring of water after a long length of dryness; there was a mural of man with mushrooms growing from him. I theorize that in extreme depths and lengthened current distance, still air is maximum while moisture dispersity is not hindered, and allows for optimal fungal fruiting. I theorize that you can grow mushrooms even from human corpses as the mural indicated in these special chambers
Thoughts?

I don't even get what you're really trying to explain here.

I don't really follow, but
Mushrooms main pinning trigger is evaporation of moisture off of the substrate
We use FAE(Fresh air exchange) to accomplish this slow evaporation even in the high humidity environment we make for it in a fruiting chamber
mushrooms like 90+% humidity so it's hard to get evaporation, yay for FAE
So this is why a SGFC has the perlite and the holes and why a green house has humidifiers, fans, and slits.

Sounds like a mold factory to me. Standing water is never a good idea. My monotubs mold just as I harvest my 2nd flush when there's standing water under the substrate. My other monotubs don't mold, because there's no standing water in them.

I don't think you're using the term "re-hydrate" incorrectly unless you are dunking your cakes with this somehow. I think you're asking would this work to keep the humidity up while providing enough FAE? I guess it might, but it seems like it would be hard for any air current to make it into the center chamber. Cubensis will grow in a sealed PF jar, so they would grow in there, but I don't think it would be optimal.
