Extracting Moldy San Pedro

Hi everyone, I have a question about extracting moldy san pedro. If you had cuttings that molded severely before they finished drying (and I'm talking a rainbow of molds white, black, pink, yellow)could you still do an acid base extraction of those slices. I wouldn't dream of making a tea or anything of the like out of them, but I think that an acid base extraction could in fact leave all the mycotoxins in the mold behind. I know there are maaaaany types of molds, and many a variety of mycotoxins. The only information on the topic that I could find was a single post on another forum. The post said it would probably be ok, but I would rather not wind up in an ER or because I rolled the dice. Has anyone done this before? Anyone have the chemistry knowledge to weigh in on this? A note to those more knowledgeable about this sort of thing than myself: I do realize that the answer to this question could very well be sometimes you can sometimes not. Just hoping I'll get some good news.

It seems like it would be tricky to say with any certainty that nothing toxic remained, since any number of things could be contaminants. Personally I would just toss it, the cactus material is easily replaced but your health is not. There is a chemistry and pharmacology forum here where you might get more detailed answers but I think new users may not have access to it right away.

This not EG area but anyway.
Do not start exctraction with cacti contaminated by mold.
Acid-Base extraction isn't so accurate you so can't know what toxins the final product have.
Even you success to extract alkaloids from cacti and have the final salt product ready, if the material you start extraction have different species of mold on it, there are sure more chemicals extracted from mold as well as cacti in your final product and you can't know how toxic the product can be.
I suggest to throw away molded cacti if you can't rescue it anyway. It's dangerous to consume, or extract a piece of cacti or any plant containing mold because you are not just extracting the mescaline, you extract all compounds form cacti as well as probably all toxins from mold and final product can be fatal or cause internal injuries to your organs.
Anyway, this is not discussion of EG but I want to write there because it is really not safe to use mold material when you do extraction. Only way you can really get a bad compounds off from final product you need expensive and professional laboratory and very good skills and knowledge with chemicals and laboratory work to separate all compounds to even success to make safe product.. Acid-Base extraction are basically very simple way and you extract all compounds from product you use to start the extraction. But do not use mold plant material with mold at all. It's dangerous
I think this should be moved to another forum.
