This forum is insanely helpful, thank you all.

Today I'll hunt for vermiculite. A lot of farming happens here so this should be findable.

As of now, I'm thinking I'll make 10 roughly 1/2 pint sized cakes (in pp5) with my first syringe... I'll play it safe and keep 2-3 as cakes to ensure that I get some yield, and attempt to spawn to bulk with the remaining cakes.

Any tricks to inoculating with pp5? I can definitely find polyfill inside a stuffed animal or something similar.

Awesome! You can do the four holes on the lid just like in the PF/BRF tek and it'll be fine. If you're using something sharp to make the holes (like an ice pick/nail rather than a drill), make sure you go kind of slow. Sometimes the lids crack if you stab something through them too quickly :sadyes:

Sweet, I'll heat up a nail and slowly push it through the plastic.

I found these perfect 240 ml pp5 plastic jars with nice dimensions and tight screw-on lids.  I got 12 for 3$.  That's the nice part about Cambodia, when you do find what you need it tends be very cheap.
