Yes the cold will do that. I'd pick em man. This deep freeze is going to destroy shit fast. I'd leave a few to do their thing though IMO.

I disagree to me those look distinctly like cyanescens. I have picked ones that look very similiar after some freezing
Edit: I see now I'm wrong sorry

I think I see distinct annular zones which cyans don't have. Although I think I see bluing but cannot tell for sure. I wouldn't eat em.

You have a few cyans and a few Galerina, set them out and number them

Galerina bruise black, and those are all Galerina. They shimmer a white hue.

no they darken because the context is dark brown.
They do not bruise black. more like dark brown.. Op said this was in a patch of cyans. id like to see more data before making conclusions.

They are in the trash now..
They were all from the same patch. All of the cyans from that patch had passed weeks ago, turned completely black and withered away.
For these, I did notice that NONE blacked (or dark blue) on the base of the stipe where I cut them, they just turned dark orange/brown. But they all had some blue on the stipes and some had it on the caps as well where it had dried out and cracked.

Spore prints are needed. Good pictures of spore prints. Make an ID request with the prints.

lol that is hilarious, but the pictures above are a good example of that. The OP found a group of mushrooms in a cyan patch, a group which he knows are not cyans. They are G. marginata Good job guys.

So the fact that the LBM wasn't frozen solid or black from the cold, is that an ID feature for Galerina? Could one simulate this effect with the freezer? Never tried freezing fresh active mushrooms on purpose before. I'm sure the thaw would melt them, literally.

Are these cyans? They are in a cyan patch, that was frozen over. They bruise blue, and sure look like them. Just these guys aren't frozen at all. Just small. I felt bad picking them since they are so small, but I wanted to keep them warm in my coat pocket, since there was ice on the ground.
Sorry for the crappy iphone photos. Didn't have my camera with me.

Do you have pictures of the bluing? They do kinda look like Galerina.

Looking like the season's nearing it's end. I have a spot that's in a wooded area, with all the cyans covered in a couple/few inches of leaves. I have to sweep around to find them. Even many that were protected under the leaves were stunted and dried as pins. I did get quite a few nice ones but if the cold reached those... I fear all the ones more in the open are goners...
