My simple cloning tek?

I've been working on a cloning tek that I'd like some feedback on before I go and document it in detail with pictures. If you have any comments or suggestions, I'd love the feedback.
Here's the abbreviated tek, without the pics yet:
- Get your cooked PF jars, and take the rings off the jars. You'll need to make quick hand movements inserting material into the jars to inoculate them.
- Prep a clean working area
- Using a razor, cut drinking straws at a 45o angle so they have a pointed tip. 3 straws per jar. Straws are cheap.
- Find something long and thin that fits inside the straw, is longer than the straw, and has a blunt tip. I use an old thin long screwdriver.
- Sterilize a fresh razor, the straws, and the poker with alcohol. I leave the straws and poker in the alcohol until I use them.
- Pick a nice, fresh, clean specimen, cut the cap off, and discard the cap but keep the stem.
- Wipe the stem with some peroxide to remove any residual spores or other unwanted contams.
- Use a sterile razor to cut a small slice off the end of the shaft. This exposes fresh clean stem.
- Insert your straw lengthwise into the end of the shaft, 1/2" deep.
- Angle and press the straw into your thumb/finger to sever the shaft material off, leaving a plug of stem material inside the straw.
- Insert your sterilized poker into the straw, but don't push the plug out yet.
- Open your jar lid, and angle your straw/poker against the side and insert it to the middle of the substrate along the glass.
- Once in position, press your poker down while pulling your straw up. This will deposit the stem material in the substrate. Discard the used straw.
- Mark the jar where you inserted the plug so you can space 3 of them evenly.
- Insert 3 plugs per-jar, sterilizing the poker each use.
- Seal your jars as normal, incubate, fruit.
So far, I'm 10 jars in with zero contams except one jar that I accidentally tipped over while injecting the plugs.. it got cobweb and I had to toss it.

Sorry maybe I wasn't as clear as I had intended, I was trying to say that. You insert the straw into the flesh of the stem, parallel with the stem so you're only taking the inside parts. The peroxide wipe is to clean away stray spores and contains so you only get the material from the specimen.

I'm liking the write-up man, good job! But wouldn't it be easier/less prone to contamination if you just used a flame-sterilized syringe from the beginning to poke through the stem, rather than messing with the straws?
