Wait until the jars are room temp to inoculate. If you're having problems waiting for your jars to cool, you're going to have problems waiting 3-6 weeks for full colonization & consolidation. Patience is key in this hobby. Do some more reading/research on here, start new projects, read a book, etc.

I learned long ago when I was doing laboratory culture work to let culture media cool before inoculating. Spent a long day doing enzymatic cuts and electoporetic transduction of some cell cultures. Got a little ahead of myself waiting for the day to end, and my broth cultures were a wee bit on the hot side from the autoclave. Inoculated, and ruined all my day's work.
Short story shorter: Wait your time or ruin your work.
