I just found the best tasting and good for you root beer. They sell it at Fred Myers with the nostalgic soda's. Pick some up today you won't regret it.
Here it is the one and only
 Check out the ingredients.

I have bad news for you, they ARE empty calories.
Ingredients are listed in order of abundance, so what there's more of is named earlier in the list.
Caffeine is listed before the aromas and thats named before the COMBINATION of herbs.

Rat Bastard Root Beer Review (Soda Tasting #202)
Rat Bastard Root Beer was originally produced by Skeleteens, before that company went out of business. Real Soda In Real Bottles now produces sodas from their line.
Update: In a subsequent email, Danny Ginsburg of Real Soda In Real Bottles mentioned that the caffeine content is typically less than half of what might be in Coca-Cola. That would put it around 12 mg.
So.. your drink probably contains less than 10mg of a blend of those herbs, and their health effects therefore are zero.
If you want a mainstream drink that gives you the goodness of herbs in reasonable concentrations have a shot of Jägermeister as your alcoholic consumption of the day.
Oh and Cane sugar has 50% fructose just like table sugar does so its not that far off from HFCS.
It may be tasty but healthy? not by a longshot. Its packed to the brim with sucrose and the healing herbs are present in homeopathic quantities.

When I said it's good for ya,all I meant was compared to like A&W rootbeer. Im not saying drink it everyday as a supplement. I find it very enjoyable and refreshing the herb blend and mushrooms are just an added bonus.

Don't drink soda anymore, so much damn sugar in it, makes me feel pretty crappy. But Root Beer and Cream Soda were always my favorites, I'll still occasionally pick up the organic stuff without the added corn syrupt.

As a kid whenever we went somewhere decently long and we'd stop at gas stations we'd always go inside and get snacks too. I usually got a cream soda, root beer, or big red to drink. Good memories with my family
