[Blotter Art] Any photoshop experts here ?
    #19225683 - 12/04/13 08:20 AM (10 years, 1 month ago)

Hi guys,

I have a project making my own custom blotters art from a good blotter art artist. However I will make the art but I don't know how to split my images into 900 squares (6mm each) like this (I made it quick but you'll see what I mean).

What is the tool in photoshop to do that please? :frown: I need to slice the background into 900 pieces of 6mm.

I'm using CS5.

Thank you brotha'

1. Make sure the canvas is a 30*6mm = 180mm square
2. Turn on the rulers in the Preferences window and set them to metric
3. Drag in guides from the rulers into the image at 6mm intervals; use both horizontal and vertical guides
4. Draw lines or squares through whichever method you like that align with the guides you dragged in. Photoshop will automatically 'snap to' the guides.

There's probably a dozen other ways to do it, but this is the one I'd use if I were to use Photoshop. But hey, you could do it with another tool as well. InDesign, Pagemaker - heck, even Word or Excel could be used. There's many ways that lead to Rome.

Now, I put one grid at 6mm.

How I can duplicate it now for the whole sheet? I only have 1 horizontal line, when I make a new guide, it overwrites the first one :frown:

Well, keep in mind that 7.5" is not exactly 180mm, so you'll end up with an excess strip of nearly 1cm on each side, but you can easily cut that off once you've made the sheets.

Anyway, I would recommend using metric because, well, it's just a little easier to be precise that way.

Drag in another one from the ruler. Don't move the first one; just drag in a new one all the way from the top/left.

Lost my girlfriend in a car accident on November 14th... i just dont give a fuck anymore about my surroundings. i wish i could have her back but that's life. My panic attacks are worse than ever, got prescribed more meds (anti depressants which i dont take because fuck it) and benzodiazepines and some other shit i still haven't opened. I'm having some bad dreams like loosing all my teeths and shit (that kind of dreams means that something bad will happens) so i dont know what to think. soory for my crappy ass english

We were driving to our home after a party at 05 AM, they were fog and we run into a traffic island (is that the right word?), I was sitting just behind the driver place. My gf was sitting on the right just next to me, the car crashed and my gf and a friend got killed (right side of the car was destroyed).

Firefighters came to extricate us, my gf was alive at that moment. She & my friend were rushed to the hospital, our friend died in the ambulance. My gf was put in coma but died at 08 AM from a brain hemorrhage :frown:

Only me and the driver survived. That traffic island is fuckin dangerous but we didnt expect it since we normally don't take this road to come home. No drugs or alcohol were involved... People are signing a petition to remove that deadly traffic island because it killed people in the past and too often saddenly, again sry for my crappy ass engl.

This is the deadly traffic island :

add fog to this and pray to be alive...

Un autre occupant s’en était sorti indemne.

"Another occupant was unhurt." and fuck it that was me --"

If you want to translate the article.. (it's in french so, sorry).

Been together since I'm 16. I'm 21 nearly 22 so...

wow man i am so sorry for your loss. i lost someone very close to me recently too and i can relate to you on the panic attacks. in general i'm doing better with having control over my mind, not dwelling on how fucked up things are, but these panic attacks come out of nowhere and are dreadful.

That's terrible. Really terrible. Especially since it's relatively close to home (well, given a global scale...) Really awful. And yeah, I don't see how anyone could get it into his head to put a concrete box smack in the middle of a road. that's just insane...
