    #19224434 - 12/03/13 09:24 PM (10 years, 2 months ago)

Hey guys, I'm pretty new and just getting into shrooms. Just got 4g's of caps and was hoping someone could ID these. Thanks!

I'm thinking cubes - can you guys tell different? Sorry for the low quality

Size reference:

Those dont look like any cubes Ive grown.

Overall color on the cap and gills are wrong. No bluing to be seen anywhere. From my perspective they are not cubes.

Nor are they Paneaolus.

Your trusted source ripped you off, sorry to break it to you. Maybe you can get your money back...
Trust is earned not given. Have you bought many active from this person before?

Well why don't you ask that source what species it is then? They don't look like actives to me, I advise against consumption.

Every now and again, someone gets a batch of shrooms that have been adulterated. Usually its in areas that dont have a reliable and legitimate source.

I used to think that it was a myth perpetuated by the D.A.R.E. program. But after reading a few other experiences, apparently it does happen.

For the price of cultivation, it seems like adulteration wouldn't be economical. But hell what do I know about RC's.

Here's a good example of what you should be looking at. These are dried cubensis. Notice that they look nothing like what you have.

Aghh so is there no chance those are actives? I wasn't told they are cubes, was just a wild guess. I forgot to ask the species when I picked them up but will text the guy later

Dried Panaeolus are even smaller and more distinct.

Updated original post to include a size reference. And yea wildernessjunkie, that does look similar... are those shiitake? These are more of a palish golden color though, some are really dark

There was evidence of being picked though, i.e. a small piece of a leaf of something on the side on one cap piece

I see the vegetation.
I dunno man.... I wouldn't mess with it. IF they were picked, they don't have features that a psilocybe has.

They are going to be hard to ID. If they are random mushrooms+an RC, you could potentially be consuming a toxic species and get sick.
