I think OSU gets jumped over. It's not just that there's a one loss SEC team that's probably better than them. There are several one loss SEC teams that are probably better than them. But Auburn just beat Bama and that's going to be enough. This weeks vote was super close between second and third, but Auburn got a couple first place votes and OSU got none. If Auburn beats Missouri convincingly, they will get a couple more first place votes and that will be it. Ohio State has one thing going. They were second at the beginning and their second now.

That's what I love about that rivalry. It's absolutely hateful. They say Auburn/Alabama is hateful but everyone down south is really just a fucking conference homer. Faggot Bama fans ways say shit like now we gotta root for the conference. Fuck your enemy. That's what I say.

I just don't see it happening. Which does mean that I don't think it would be wrong. Just that it won't happen.
I aint particularly sold on Missouri either. I still think Alabama is the best team in the country but they lost on a nutcase play in the other team's house. So it goes. It shouldn't have been that close.

Finally someone said it.
Hate to agree with zappa but Bama is probably still the best team.

Fuck on perceptions of who's the best. Fuck, if the NFL was run like college it would probably be the Steelers and the Cowboys every year.

Agreed that Bama is still the best team. Champion doesn't mean best though.
All this talk about tenths of a point in the BCS ranking doesn't mean jack. There's a couple more meaningful games left and they'll jiggle the computers' perceptions of strength of schedule and how that works into whatever equations or algorithms the various systems use. It's a mathematical rubix cube jigsaw puzzle sorting itself out and the only thing that we have a handle on that is really going to matter is whether or not the AP voters are going to decide to rig the vote in favor of the SEC champion or not. They have most of the power to decide what happens and recent history has showed multiple times that politicking matters and the apparent rules of how teams get shifted up or down can be broken for reasons that didn't matter before.

That's exactly what I'm saying.
The thing I find most interesting about this is Meyer's recent status as the face of the SEC. Little Nicky while actual Nicky was off NFLing or regaining his power.

The utter SEC dominance perceived by the general sports public...a myth perpetuated by the media?
Check it out, I grabbed this excerpt from an article:
Quote:
Since the inception of the BCS, the SEC has been crowned national champion 57.14 percent of the time. That's a stunning turnaround when compared with an undisputed national title rate of 10.42 percent over the half-century prior. So what's behind such a radical shift in fortune, such a statistical improbability? It certainly isn't on-field performance. Judging by inter-conference records -- that is to say actual games as opposed to media guesswork and bestowed rankings -- the SEC plays other BCS conferences about equally. Witness the record since the start of the BCS era in 1998:
SEC vs. PAC-12 regular season: 10-12 SEC vs. PAC-12 bowl games: 1-0 SEC vs. Big 12 regular season: 6-10 SEC vs. Big 12 bowl games: 21-8 SEC vs. ACC regular season: 42-36 SEC vs. ACC bowl games: 16-9 SEC vs. Big 10 regular season: 7-4 SEC vs. Big 10 bowl games: 19-19 SEC vs. Big East regular season: 16-15 SEC vs. Big East bowl game: 3-8
The record is clear. In head-to-head match-ups against other major conferences, the SEC has either a combined losing record or one that's generally only a little better than even.

Most statistical rankings have had the SEC no. 1 or no. 2 for the past decade or so. I trust Sagarin a lot more on this issue than people's opinions, mostly because people just remember one or two teams and then forget how Kentucky's existence gives everyone in the SEC East and a couple teams in the West a free win. The SEC has been really good, but is by no means in some league of its own. PAC-12 is better this year, for instance, and the Big 12 was better a couple years ago.

Danielson said it and I agree with it. Saban put in his biggest, best blockers to stop a block. They couldn't make the play. It wasn't the same special teams players as a kickoff or punt. And plus, you're taking my "athlete" a bit too seriously. You know exactly what I meant.
What kind of idiot coach would sacrifice blocking to defend against a returned field goal and they weren't all behemoths.
The one who ended up losing, obviously. Look at the runback. Almost all of the players on the field for Alabama are behemoths.

It's fun to bash Saban but you don't sacrifice blocking to buy insurance against a play that happens once every decade.
