anyways i would say every day in my life is amazing in a unique way but i really value my childhood, i had all these woods behind my house and i would just go out there and get lost in a completely imaginative world

too many.

not to get on some sad shit but when I was younger like age 5 my mom would leave me at my grandparents and they would watch me. I loved that shit, they fucking spoiled me. My grandpa would cook me scrambled eggs and toast all the fucking time! Slathering the toast in fucking butter! I miss him a lot. It fucking sucks! That guy was a war hero too

Then I'd have to say just being little running around at my parents friends house when they had bbq's and shit... The days of no fucking worries. No papers due. No exams. No college.

Then I'd have to move on to 6th grade when I was a bonafide pimp.

moving into middle school I just played Halo 2..

then came high school. Smoked weed for the first timee..
then junior year was fun as fuck...

ahhh
shit
I can go on and on...

as of recently nothing major..just a few trips with friends..

When I first discovered eastern philosophy, meditation, and began reading Alan Watts books. Without going into to much detail, my upbringing left me with a lot of issues involving guilt and self loathing. I had a very strong and difficult solo mushroom trip when I was 17 which changed my life and left me searching for understanding. I don't remember the  exact sequence of events but a year or two later I ended up with some Watts book on Zen, Taoism, and meditation along with a copy of the Tao te Ching. I also began practicing yoga during this time.

Those first moments of realization were beautiful.
True inner peace experienced for the first time ever, after years of depression and self hatred. It really did feel like a huge burden had been lifted off my shoulders, I saw the world with a fresh new perspective, not overburdened with feelings of guilt and negative thought patterns. I also felt genuine compassion and a connection to nature that I had never experienced before.
Of course over time the feeling began to fade, but the experience left its imprint and it taught me that life was worth living, something I had forgotten along the way.

None. I seem to remember the highlights of certain times in my life, but looking back... it was all shitty. I'm not depressed or anything either.

I swear if psychiatry hadn't dubiously nabbed my gun rights, I'd have committed suicide at least 5 or 6 times in the last 3 years. I think things are maybe starting to turn around though and I had this one super awesome day recently where all these bad coincidences backfired and it became the best day this half of this year.

The fact that insightful and clarity provoking experiences, no matter what medium they were achieved through fade, has always bothered me. After a fair amount of contemplation on the subject I think I understand that all one can expect and predict in life is change, and that is intriguing in its own way.

True that. I've spent a good amount of time fervently pursuing  those feelings of insight or "enlightenment"  but really I was just chasing another high. All we can do is enjoy those moments of clarity and peace as they come with the knowledge that they are impermanent and fleeting. The Tao te Ching really resonates with me.

Just go with the flow man :fasted:

I'm in a similar time period of my life where there are some conflicts and problems, But in the words of Bill Hicks "this is just a ride". I find refuge in those words because I know that they are true. I didn't ask to be here, but I am.
